We're looking for a talented and detail-oriented Mechanical Design Engineer to join our dynamic engineering team in Changchun Shi, China. In this role, you'll take ownership of mechanical design projects from concept through production, collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver innovative solutions that exceed customer expectations. You'll drive technical excellence while fostering a culture of continuous improvement and collaborative problem-solving.
- Lead and conduct mechanical engineering development activities in accordance with established development processes and best practices
- Design, analyze, and optimize mechanical components and systems using advanced CAD tools and modeling techniques
- Perform complex technical problem-solving and provide innovative solutions to engineering challenges
- Conduct design reviews, feasibility studies, and milestone assessments to ensure delivery quality and project success
- Collaborate effectively with cross-functional stakeholders including R&D teams, project managers, manufacturing, quality, and procurement to ensure seamless project execution
- Manage mechanical engineering projects by conducting estimations, developing plans, tracking progress, organizing resources, and preparing comprehensive reports
- Perform or coordinate mechanical testing and validation activities to verify design performance and reliability
- Create, maintain, and manage mechanical engineering data and documentation within established systems
- Provide technical consulting and mentorship to fellow engineers, supporting problem-solving initiatives across disciplines
- Coordinate lessons learned activities and implement continuous improvement measures to enhance processes and outcomes
- Support manufacturing and quality teams to ensure designs are producible and meet all specifications
- Act as a technical leader within your discipline, contributing to competence development and knowledge sharing
**Required Qualifications:**
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline
- Proficiency in mechanical CAD software (e.g., CATIA, SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or equivalent)
- English lauguage in listening, speaking, reading and writing.
- Strong understanding of mechanical engineering principles, design methodologies, and product development processes
- Demonstrated experience in mechanical design, analysis, and optimization
- Solid knowledge of manufacturing processes and design for manufacturability
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail
- Proven ability to manage projects, including estimation, planning, and tracking
- Strong communication and technical documentation skills
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams in a matrix environment
- Familiarity with quality standards and testing methodologies
**Preferred Qualifications:**
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA) and simulation tools
- Knowledge of industry standards and regulatory requirements relevant to mechanical design
- Project management certification or equivalent experience
- Experience in a manufacturing or automotive environment
- Familiarity with PLM (Product Lifecycle Management) systems
- Track record of leading technical initiatives or mentoring junior engineers
- Experience with rapid prototyping and iterative design processes
- Documentation in SAP, IMDS and CAMDS
