​Work Location: This position is located in both ourAuburn Hills, MIandTroy, MIlocations. Candidates must be able to work from both offices as business needs require and be flexible with their work location.

About the Role:
As a Site HSE professional you will ensure that legal requirements and other requirements of Valeo Group are identified, established and implemented. You will also ensure that the management system which is put in place does contribute to continuous improvement in performance.

In accordance with the country's regulations and Group requirements, and certified Management System, the role of the HSE Professional/Engineer is to organize and manage all internal and external risks, in order to: 

• Check that safety and security equipment are in compliance with requirements and in good condition

• Carry out risk analysis and monitor regulatory survey

• Establish the site “Health, Safety, Security and Environment” operation procedures and oversee their application

• Carry out inspections and internal audits, make recommendations and specify corresponding actions as well as the responsibility for implementing it

• Implement and monitor action relating to the handling of any non-compliance revealed by the inspections, internal audits and external audits, taking the necessary investments into account.

• Be aware of developments in the legislation andescalateanypotential non-compliance.

Technicalaspects:

• Ensure continuouslythatallbuildings,process,equipment,machines,installations,all devices,materialsandproductsofthesite presenttheminimumhazard,throughtheinvolvementupstreamoftheprojects,theissuance ofHSEspecifications,receptionandtheauditofthesemeansonacontinuousbasis.

• Planning andmonitoringtheimplementationofallcorrectiveorpreventativeimprovementactionsinthetechnicalfieldfollowinginternal/externalaudits,inspectionsandexchangeofbestpractices.

• Site HSEProfessional/EngineeractsasaValeoWorkCoordinatorandErgonomicsLeader.

Organizational aspects:

• Analyze andupdatetheregulatorycomplianceofitssiteandmaintainitcontinuously. 

• Perform riskassessments forallHSEfieldsonthesite,includingemergency mode,non-prescribed/unplannedworksuchascontractorworks,unplanned maintenance,deviationtovalidatedprocess,andeachdeviationiscapturedinadatabasewithanupdatedmitigationplantocoverdeviationleadtime. 

• In eacharea,setupmanuals,procedures,instructions,visualstandardsandsigns. 

• Ensure anauditbyOJTthatsafetytools,safetystandardsareadapted,known,understood,applied,andenforcedbymanagement. 

• Communicate internally(managersandemployeerepresentatives)andexternally(authorities,inspectors,neighbors,othercompanies,etc.)onHSEissues. 

• Assess andmonitorsafetyrisksfromdeviationstostandard. 

• Monitor incidentsandaccidentsonthesiteusingQRQC.

Behavioralaspects:

• Develop manager Safety Skills using Safety First, Risk Hunting, Safety Talks and Safety Briefing tools to be certified and autonomous leadership in safety. 

• Train people to react in emergency and unexpected situation

What You Should Have:

• 3-5 years safety (basic industry environmental knowledge preferred) 

• OSHA workplace requirements and general industry standards knowledge 

• Knowledge of OSHA injury reporting

• OSHA 30 or 40 hour industry training 

• Automotive manufacturing experience preferred

• Bachelor's degree in Health, Safety and Environmental majors, or related field.
