Cloud Engineer

You will collaborate closely with the engineering teams to develop, manage and continuously enhance the company’sMicrosoft Azure infrastructure across production, staging and development environments.

This is ahands-on technical role suited to someone who enjoys tackling infrastructure challenges, introducing automation, strengthening platform reliability and enabling development teams to deploy applications securely and efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, deploy, configure and maintainAzure infrastructure across production, staging and development environments.

• Continuously improve thescalability, availability, reliability and performance of the cloud platform.

• Administer key Azure services, includingApp Service, Virtual Machines, Storage Accounts, networking and identity services.

• Maintain and enhanceCI/CD pipelines and software deployment processes.

• Automate infrastructure provisioning, deployment and configuration wherever possible.

• Managemonitoring, logging, alerting and application observability using Azure Monitor, Application Insights, Log Analytics and related technologies.

• Diagnose and resolve issues relating tocloud infrastructure, networking, deployments and system performance.

• Apply cloud security best practices, includingRBAC, managed identities, Key Vault, network controls and secrets management.

• Configure and manageVNets, private endpoints, DNS, firewalls and other Azure networking components.

• Identify opportunities to optimisecloud expenditure, resource utilisation and overall platform performance.

• Contribute to incident response activities, includingroot-cause analysis and the implementation of preventative improvements.

• Ensure the Azure environment remains current by adopting appropriateplatform enhancements, security updates and cloud best practices.

Required Skills & Experience

• A minimum of3 years of hands-on Microsoft Azure experience within cloud engineering, infrastructure, systems engineering or DevOps.

• Proven experience indeploying, configuring and supporting Azure resources.

• Strong working knowledge of core Azure services, includingApp Service, Virtual Machines, networking, storage and identity.

• Experience working withCI/CD pipelines, using Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions or similar technologies.

• Experience withInfrastructure as Code, using ARM Templates, Bicep or Terraform.

• Solid knowledge of networking concepts, includingVNets, subnets, private endpoints, DNS, firewalls and routing.

• Practical experience withmonitoring, logging, troubleshooting and performance optimisation.

• Good understanding ofcloud security principles, including access control, secrets management and secure networking.

• Experience supportingproduction environments and investigating technical incidents.

• Aproactive, hands-on and solution-focused approach to technical challenges.

• Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate effectively withsoftware engineering teams.
