Position Summary:
Applicants must be currently knowledgeable and have on basic hardware and software associated with primary care. The individual will have completed or be willing to complete training in basic set-up and operations of the Telus Practice Solutions-EMR. This is so they can provide technical support within the nursing station; visiting services and provide overall administration which will include knowledge of database systems with support and will be willing to receive training with the Giiwednong IT Services in the near future.

Job Duties & Responsibilities:
Â
- Set up hardware, software and have the ability to configure software and drivers (computers and printers)
- Maintain and repair technological equipment as needed (ie routers) or peripheral devices
- Oversee the security options and software in computers and networks to maintain privacy and protection
- Perform regular upgrades to ensure systems’ maintenance
- Keep records of repairs and fixes for future reference
- Keep an inventory of current systems; users; passwords; and updates for each and every desktops and laptops
- Set up and ensure that all Ipads and other devices have the required software and loading of software for distance care (virtual)
- Able to offer timely technical support and teach users how to operate computers correctly
- Assist DOH with the drafting and testing of written codes for reporting and quality improvement purposes
- Perform other duties as necessary.
- Adhere to all policies and procedures of Wasauksing First Nation and any other relevant policies and procedures from external agencies and partners
- Perform other duties within the scope of the position as assigned by the Manager or Supervisor
Education & Experience:
- Minimum, completion of a college diploma in the field of IT or other related disciplines; asset would be a university degree in computer science
- Minimum of 2 years of previous related experience in IT or have a basic understanding of computer systems, networks and software
- Proven problem-solving abilities
- Excellent communication skills as there will be “Adult Training” expected
- Ability to speak, read and understand Anishnaabemowin (Ojibway Language) is an asset
Other Requirements:Â
- Ability to speak Ojibway would be an asset
- Valid Driver’s Licence and reliable personal vehicle
- Willing to work flexible hours as required, including evenings and weekends
- ability to travel and be willing to take part in “landbased” programming and/or training
- This position requires the individual to work with various families, youth and children. To protect children, youth and vulnerable persons, Wasauksing First Nation requires the individual to provide a vulnerable sector. Or criminal record check
