IT Software Asset Management Developer - SBOM
Location: Raleigh, NC
Onsite Flexibility: Remote

- Pay Rate: $90.00β$103.44 / Hour (USD)

Job Summary
This SAM team member is responsible for developing and integratingSBOM solutions to collect, process, normalize, enrich, correlate, and report software component data.
Key Responsibilities
SBOM Development
- Develop, test, implement, and support solutions for collecting, processing, validating, normalizing, enriching, integrating, and reporting SBOM data.
- Translate approved business and functional requirements into technical requirements, user stories, development tasks, and working solutions.
- Develop integrations and automation betweenGitLab, JFrog Artifactory, ServiceNow SAM, Flexera, Technopedia/DejaCode, and other supporting systems.
- Develop processes to identify and normalize commercial, open-source, and embedded software components and associate them with applications and software records.
- Correlate SBOM component data with software license, entitlement, and inventory data to support license compliance and risk identification.
- Support CycloneDX and SPDX formats and identification standards including Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE), Common Platform Enumeration (CPE), and Package URL (PURL).
- Develop reporting, dashboards, data-quality monitoring, and exception handling for SBOM processes.
- Troubleshoot and resolve integration, processing, and data-quality issues.
ServiceNow SAM Development
- Develop, configure, test, and support ServiceNow SAM solutions and the SBOM Module using platform best practices and configuration over customization.
- Develop solutions supporting software discovery, normalization, licensing, entitlements, reconciliation, compliance, optimization, lifecycle management, and software approval, unauthorized software remediation.
- Develop and maintain ServiceNow request management capabilities, including catalog items, RITMs, approvals, tasks, notifications, routing, and automated workflows.
- Develop and maintain integrations, APIs, scripts, workflows, scheduled processes, reports, and automation supporting SAM processes.
- Work with the ITAM Solutions and ServiceNow Platform teams to ensure solutions meet platform standards and technical requirements.
- Review ServiceNow releases and support enhancements or changes affecting SAM and SBOM capabilities.
Development and Delivery
- Use Agile practices and Jira to manage development tasks, user stories, defects, testing, and delivery activities.
- Perform developer and unit testing and support functional and user acceptance testing.
- Maintain technical documentation and follow established change management and deployment processes.
- Support implementation, knowledge transfer, production validation, and troubleshooting.
- Manage multiple development activities and enhancements.
- Regularly participate in scheduled after-hours and weekend deployments, upgrades, releases, and production implementations.
Required Skills
- 5 years of experience in ServiceNow development/configuration, Software Asset Management, systems integration, application development, or related implementation work.
- Experience developing and configuringServiceNow SAM solutions.
- Strong understanding of SBOMs and software component management.
- Experience with APIs, integrations, workflows, scripts, automation, and data processing.
- Experience with ServiceNow Request Management, Service Catalog, RITMs, approvals, workflows, and fulfillment processes.
- Experience translating business and functional requirements into technical solutions.
- Experience withREST APIs, web services, JSON, XML, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and related technologies.
- Knowledge of SAM concepts including discovery, normalization, software models, licensing, entitlements, reconciliation, compliance, authorization, and lifecycle management.
- Experience with Jira and Agile development practices.
- Strong troubleshooting, analytical, communication, and documentation skills.
Preferred Skills
- Advanced ServiceNow SAM and Configuration Management Database (CMDB) experience.
- Experience with Flexera software inventory, discovery, normalization, licensing, and integrations.
- Experience integrating with GitLab and JFrog Artifactory.
Required Experience
