Salary: $90,000–$100,000/year; Based on experience
Location: Glens Falls, NY (On-site)
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–5:00 PM
Education: Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required
Experience: 6+ years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field required
Leadership: 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred
Skills: Experience managing enterprise security tools including SIEM/SOAR, EDR/XDR, vulnerability scanning, and incident response required
Our client is seeking an experiencedIT Security Operations Manager to oversee the day-to-day operations of its cybersecurity program in the Glens Falls, NY area.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience withsecurity operations, enterprise security tools, cybersecurity frameworks, vulnerability management, and regulatory compliance, along with the ability to lead and develop a security operations team.
Responsibilities of the IT Security Operations Manager will include:
- Lead the day-to-day operations of the Security Operations team and develop security operations policies and procedures.
- Providemanagement, coaching, training, and support to security team members.
- Overseesecurity monitoring,alert management, andevent responseactivities.
- Manage enterprise security technologies includingSIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and email security platforms.
- Overseevulnerability management activities, including scanning, risk assessment, remediation tracking, and reporting.
- Coordinateinvestigations of cybersecurity incidentsand ensure timely containment, eradication, and recovery.
- Conduct threat huntingand collaborate with threat intelligence providers to identify emerging risks.
- Manage and monitorData Loss Prevention (DLP) solutions to identify and mitigate potential unauthorized disclosure of sensitive information.
- Maintain compliance with applicable cybersecurity frameworks and regulations, includingNIST, CIS Controls, PCI DSS, HIPAA, and SOX.
- Collaborate with infrastructure, application, cloud, and network teams to implementsecurity best practices.
- Participate insecurity awareness initiatives and organizational cybersecurity planning.
- Developsecurity metrics, dashboards, and executive reports to communicate operational performance and risk.
- Partner with internal leadership, technical teams, and vendors oncybersecurity initiatives and priorities.
Qualifications for the role of IT Security Operations Manager:
- Bachelor's degreeor equivalent professional experience required.
- 6+ years of experience in Computer Science, Information Technology, Cybersecurity, or a related field.
- 2+ years of supervisory experience preferred.
- Knowledge ofSecurity Operations Center (SOC) management.
- Experience managing enterprise security tools including SIEM, SOAR, EDR/XDR, firewalls, IDS/IPS, vulnerability scanners, and email security platforms.
- Strong understanding of cybersecurityframeworks, compliance requirements, andrisk management practices.
- Working proficiency withWindows, Linux, Active Directory, Azure, AWS, Microsoft 365, and cloud security.
- Strong incident response, vulnerability management, and threat analysis capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbalcommunication skills with the ability to work effectively with management, technical teams, and vendors.
- Strongproject management skillswith the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
- Proficiency withMicrosoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and PowerPoint.
- Stronganalytical skills with excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
- Demonstrated ability tolead, coach, and develop technical teams.
