GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE JOB
As a Senior Project Manager II (IT) supporting Physician Solutions (OneView), you will drive the successful delivery of high-impact, cross-functional technology initiatives from discovery through deployment and operational readiness. In this role, you will shape delivery roadmaps, align cross-functional teams and external partners, and ensure key milestones, scope, and financial commitments remain on track.
This role calls for visible, active accountability, sound critical judgment, and personal ownership of project success. Leveraging your understanding of the software development lifecycle, you will test assumptions, ask insightful questions, anticipate downstream impacts, and keep teams focused on high-impact progress. You will succeed by building stakeholder trust, facilitating timely decisions, resolving roadblocks early, and rallying diverse teams around shared commitments and measurable business value.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES
1. 1. Project Execution, Delivery, and Milestone Governance
- Project Success Ownership: Lead end-to-end delivery of complex technology initiatives for Physician Solutions (OneView), connecting cross-functional teams and driving projects to measurable business outcomes.
- Complete Lifecycle & Agile Delivery: Own delivery from discovery and architecture through development, testing, release, and operational adoption; guide sprint execution, adapt to changing priorities, and re-baseline projects when needed.
- Critical Path & Dependency Command: Build, manage, and govern the critical path across product, engineering, operational, and vendor workstreams, securing commitments and resolving schedule risks early.
- Critical Thinking & Delivery Fluency: Apply deep SDLC and architecture fluency to test assumptions, evaluate technical trade-offs, and synthesize complex inputs into sound delivery decisions.
- Direct Ownership & Action Tracking: Establish clear ownership, due dates, and escalation paths for deliverables, partnering cross-functionally to resolve blockers and track commitments to closure.
- Discovery & Estimation: Partner with Solution Architects, Tech Leads, and Product Managers during discovery and Level of Effort (L0) sizing to validate scope, capacity models, and delivery roadmaps.
- Scope & Priority Control: Protect business outcomes by actively managing scope and backlog changes, clearly framing trade-offs, and facilitating timely leadership alignment.
- Executive Decision Support: Deliver concise, executive-ready project health reporting that highlights business impacts, milestone risks, required decisions, and actionable "Path to Green" plans.
- Proactive Risk & Issue Ownership: Surface delivery risks and technical impediments early, collaborating with stakeholders on root-cause analysis and clear, time-bound recovery plans.
- Strategic Cross-Functional Alignment: Align business priorities with the macro delivery roadmap, partnering seamlessly with Development Managers (engineering execution) and Scrum Masters (team agile ceremonies).
- Triad & CDD Collaboration: Partner actively with the Product, Design, and Engineering triad, bringing critical-path, capacity, and dependency insights to ensure continuous discovery translates into delivered value.
- Stakeholder Leadership: Lead high-impact working sessions and steering forums, using clear, diplomatic communication to build alignment, confirm ownership, and maintain momentum.
- Resource & Capacity Management: Manage resource allocations and capacity plans in Apptio Targetprocess (ATP), proactively identifying constraints to protect delivery commitments and budget integrity.
- Financial Stewardship & EAC Accuracy: Build and manage project financial models (CapEx/OpEx, vendor SOWs, and labor costs), maintaining high monthly Estimate at Completion (EAC) forecast accuracy and transparent variance reporting.
- Capitalization & Compliance Governance: Monitor project time-tracking compliance against assigned project codes (PPSIDs) in accordance with corporate capitalization standards and audit guidelines.
- PMO Governance & Continuous Improvement: Establish project governance and decision records, while championing continuous improvement—incorporating PMI best practices, new ways of working, and AI-driven efficiencies to elevate PMO maturity and execution.
