Job Family Description

Information Technology / Operations Technology (IT/OT) professionals sculpt the technological framework of the organization through the creation and management of scalable and secure information systems. Charged with the development and deployment of solutions, they analyze short- and long-term requirements to enhance system functionality and efficiency. They design and refine software applications, ensuring integration with existing architectural paradigms while also developing network systems and infrastructure to support business needs. IT/OT personnel manage the organization's IT/OT landscape, guaranteeing the reliable operation of servers, databases, and other components of the technology ecosystem. By maintaining a secure and robust IT/OT infrastructure, they uphold the integrity and confidentiality of data while facilitating connectivity and accessibility. Information Technology / Operations Technology personnel continually adapt to technological advancements, ensuring the organization stays at the forefront of emerging IT/OT trends and is well-equipped to meet future challenges while maintaining secure and stable operations.

Discipline Description

IT/OT management oversees multiple domains of the company's IT and/or OT infrastructure, including cyber security, systems administration, network operations, and software development. They lead cross-functional teams to ensure reliable and efficient IT and/or OT operations that align with business objectives. They develop and deliver new IT and/or OT technologies and solutions to meet new business needs and improve efficiency of ongoing operations. They manage IT and/or OT initiatives and customer relationships and ensure adherence to internal and external regulations.

Some Typical Duties & Responsibilities Include:

The Cybersecurity Manager (M2) provides leadership and technical oversight for enterprise cyber defense, monitoring, and assurance activities supporting Savannah River Nuclear Solutions mission systems. This role manages a team of cybersecurity professionals responsible for threat detection, continuous monitoring, compliance, and incident response across IT/OT environments. The manager ensures alignment with NIST, DOE, and SRNS cybersecurity policies while driving maturity, efficiency, and resilience across cyber programs.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead Cybersecurity Assurance, Monitoring & Scanning teams supporting enterprise cyber defense.
• Oversee cyber response workflows, ensuring containment, mitigation, and recovery actions meet DOE and SRNS requirements.
• Manage cybersecurity operations including vulnerability management, configuration assurance, and enterprise scanning programs.
• Direct development, review, and enforcement of cybersecurity standards and procedures within Computing Assurance.
• Work with mission partners and senior leadership to prioritize cyber risks and develop remediation roadmaps.
• Coordinate cross-functional response with OT, IT Operations, Engineering, and Mission Support organizations.
• Provide mentorship, performance management, and workforce development for cyber staff.
• Ensure timely delivery of cyber metrics, audit artifacts, and compliance evidence to internal and external stakeholders.
• Support hiring, workforce planning, and succession for cybersecurity roles within S4920.
• Participate in enterprise cybersecurity governance bodies and contribute to SRNS cyber strategy.

Required Qualifications

• CISSP required (active certification).

• Bachelor’s degree in Cybersecurity, Computer Science, IT, or related field; or equivalent experience.

• 7+ years of progressively responsible cybersecurity or IT experience.

• 3+ years of leadership or technical management experience.

• Strong understanding of NIST RMF, FISMA, DOE directives, and enterprise security architecture.

• Experience leading cyber teams in high-security or regulated environments.

• Proven ability to manage multiple cybersecurity programs simultaneously.

• Eight or more years of experience (YOE) as an individual contributor in one or more of the roles managed, OR Bachelor's Degree in a relevant field plus five or more years of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed, OR Master's Degree in a relevant field plus three or more year of experience (YOE) in one or more of the roles managed.

• Equivalencies to experience and education requirements will be considered.

We'd Also Like to See

• Master's degree Cybersecurity, Information Security/Assurance, Computer Engineering, Network Administration, or equivalent from an accredited college or university.

• System Management knowledge of Distributed Control Systems (e.g. Emerson DeltaV or Novatech D3) and Information Technology Networking.

• Additional certifications: CISM, CEH, GCIH, GSLC, or similar.

• Experience in nuclear, government, or critical infrastructure cyber programs.

• Deep experience with SIEM platforms, vulnerability scanners, and enterprise EDR.

• Knowledge of OT cybersecurity, ICS/SCADA security controls, and cross-domain environments.

Security Clearance Information

SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug & alcohol test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications. Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S. citizenship. Factors such as pre-employment background review results, dual citizenship status, and unpaid and/or unfiled taxes may impact your ability to obtain a security clearance.
