NOC Network Admin position
On-Site: This position will be required to report on-site.
Certifications
Networking: CCNA, or CompTIA Network+
Position Description:
· We are seeking a highly skilled and technically proficient NOC Technician to support Tier 1–2 network, systems, and cloud infrastructure operations in a mission-critical 24x7x365 environment. You will be responsible for the proactive monitoring, troubleshooting, and resolution of issues impacting a large-scale LAN/WAN architecture across over 100 county wide sites, including core IP networking, virtualization platforms, hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, GCP), and SaaS integrations.
· This role includes hands-on support of routers, switches, firewalls, wireless infrastructure, and various connected devices. You will also manage escalations, execute standard changes, and contribute to documentation and continuous improvement.
Minimum Qualifications:
· Associate's or Bachelor's degree in IT, Computer Science, or equivalent hands-on experience
· 2–4+ years of experience in a NOC or enterprise IT operations environment
· Familiarity with Cisco Enterprise Networks and Cisco Command Line
· Familiarity with ITIL-based incidents, problems, and change management
Preferred Technical Skills
Networking
· Deep understanding of TCP/IP, VLANs, ACLs, EIGRP, OSPF, NAT, and multicast
· Configuration and troubleshooting of Cisco routers/switches: 2900, 3800, 3900 routers; 2900, 3500, 3700, 9200, 9300, 9500, IE2K/4K/5K series switches
· Experience with Cisco Wireless LAN Controllers and wireless networks on a large scale
· Familiarity with SNMP, NetFlow/sFlow, Wireshark/tcpdump
· Experience with SD-WAN, MPLS, and VPN (IPSec/SSL)
· Knowledge of Layer 1–4 troubleshooting and infrastructure design for 50+ site environments
Preferred Experience:
· Infrastructure Monitoring & Incident Response
o Monitor enterprise infrastructure using tools such as SolarWinds, Cisco Catalyst Center, Cisco Client, Palo Alto Panorama, etc.
o Triage and respond to system-generated alerts and logs across network, server, andcloud environments
o Perform root cause analysis (RCA) and escalate to Tier 2/3 engineering teams as necessary
· Network & Systems Operations
o Configure and support LAN/WAN connectivity for user devices (PCs, VOIP phones, printers, IoT, card readers, body-worn cameras) Troubleshoot and maintain DHCP reservations, DNS configurations, firewall rules, ACLs, and VLAN assignments
o Maintain connectivity between internal systems, cloud resources, and remote users (VPN, NetMotion, Ipsec/SSL)
Security & Compliance
o Block malicious IPs in real-time per InfoSec team guidance
o Manage VPN access for county employees and third-party vendors
o Support physical security infrastructure (cameras, intercoms) across 100+ sites using Avigilon
· Field & Physical Layer Support
o Perform cabling verification and troubleshooting for network patching
o Use tools such as Fluke DTX testers to validate copper and fiber connections
o Coordinate with low-voltage cabling vendors for installations and escalations
· Operational Management
o Use TeamDynamix Service Management for ticket handling and workflow tracking
o Maintain NOC SOPs, technical documentation, and operational runbooks
o Participate in on-call rotations and after-hours emergency support
