Youth RISE Foundation is seeking anIT Manager to help maintain, improve, and develop the technology systems that support the organization's day-to-day operations.
This opportunity is designed for someone withsome experience in information technology, systems administration, technical support, cybersecurity, software administration, or a related area who wants to strengthen their skills while contributing to a growing nonprofit.
The position is currentlyunpaid and does not guarantee compensation or future employment.
The expected commitment is approximately10โ15 hours per week, with flexibility around the individual's schedule.
About the Position
The IT Manager is responsible for helping Youth RISE Foundation maintain a reliable, secure, organized, and user-friendly technology environment.
The position provides hands-on exposure toIT operations, systems administration, cybersecurity, software management, user support, documentation, and technology planning.
The IT Manager will work closely with the Executive Director of Operations and organizational leadership to ensure that technology supports the Foundation's mission and operational needs.
Core Responsibilities
IT Operations
- Support the organization's day-to-day technology operations.
- Monitor organizational technology systems.
- Help maintain technology infrastructure and services.
- Identify technical issues and coordinate appropriate solutions.
- Maintain documentation for important systems and processes.
- Help establish standardized IT procedures.
User Support
- Provide basic technical support to authorized staff, volunteers, interns, and leadership.
- Assist users with account access and common technical issues.
- Troubleshoot software and platform problems.
- Escalate complex technical issues when appropriate.
- Develop basic technology guides and instructions.
Account & Access Management
- Assist with organizational account creation and deactivation.
- Maintain appropriate access permissions.
- Support role-based access management.
- Assist with onboarding and offboarding technology processes.
- Regularly review access and identify unnecessary permissions.
Microsoft 365 & Collaboration Systems
- Assist with administration of Microsoft 365 services.
- Support Microsoft Teams and organizational collaboration tools.
- Help manage shared mailboxes and organizational accounts.
- Assist with Microsoft SharePoint and document-management systems where applicable.
- Support integration of approved organizational technology platforms.
Cybersecurity
- Help promote organizational cybersecurity practices.
- Assist with implementation of security policies.
- Support multi-factor authentication and secure account practices.
- Identify potential security risks and escalate concerns.
- Assist with security awareness initiatives.
- Help maintain appropriate technology security documentation.
Software & Technology Management
- Maintain an inventory of organizational technology platforms.
- Assist with software evaluations.
- Research technology solutions appropriate for nonprofit organizations.
- Help identify free or low-cost technology resources.
- Support implementation of approved software.
- Monitor technology needs across departments.
Technology Projects
- Assist with technology implementations and migrations.
- Support department technology projects.
- Help develop implementation timelines.
- Coordinate technical requirements with vendors or service providers when appropriate.
- Document project outcomes and system changes.
IT Documentation
The IT Manager will help maintain documentation including:
- System inventories
- Account-management procedures
- Access-control procedures
- IT onboarding procedures
- IT offboarding procedures
- Troubleshooting guides
- Technology policies
- Security procedures
- Vendor information
- System configuration documentation
- Technology emergency procedures

Preferred Experience
Some relevant experience is preferred, but extensive management experience isnot required.

Time Commitment

The position is intentionally structured around amanageable and flexible 10โ15 hour weekly commitment.

Specific technical projects or urgent technology matters may occasionally require additional coordination, but the general expectation remains within the agreed weekly commitment.

This position is currently unpaid and does not guarantee salary, wages, benefits, or future employment.
If Youth RISE Foundation develops the financial capacity to provide compensation for this or similar work in the future, any compensation would be subject to organizational approval, applicable law, and an appropriate written agreement.
Approved expense reimbursement or other permitted support may be available in accordance with Foundation policies.
