IT Business Manager

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Position Summary

The IT Business Manager is responsible for the strategic and operational management of a global portfolio of enterprise applications supporting critical business functions. This role serves as the primary liaison between business stakeholders, DTS teams, and external service providers to ensure technology solutions are reliable, cost-effective, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.

The position is accountable for the performance, governance, and continuous improvement of over 120 enterprise applications and oversees more than 40 external resources across multiple service providers. The IT Business Manager drives service excellence, vendor performance, operational stability, and technology optimization while ensuring solutions continue to meet evolving business requirements.

Success in this role requires strong business partnership skills, financial and operational acumen, and the ability to influence decisions across a complex global organization.

Major Accountabilities

Application Portfolio Management

• Manage the lifecycle, performance, and governance of a portfolio of 120+ enterprise applications.
• Ensure applications meet business, security, compliance, and operational requirements.
• Develop and execute roadmaps that support business priorities and technology strategies.

Business Partnership

• Serve as the primary technology relationship manager for assigned business functions.
• Understand business objectives and translate requirements into technology solutions.
• Partner with stakeholders to prioritize enhancements, investments, and support activities.

Service Delivery Management

• Ensure stable and efficient application support services through established service management processes.
• Monitor operational performance, service levels, incident trends, and customer satisfaction.
• Lead continuous improvement initiatives that enhance service quality and user experience.

Vendor and Resource Management

• Provide governance and oversight for external service providers supporting the application portfolio.
• Manage performance, service quality, contractual obligations, and resource utilization.
• Ensure effective coordination between vendors, DTS teams, and business stakeholders.

Financial Management

• Manage operational budgets associated with application support and managed services.
• Identify opportunities for cost optimization while maintaining service quality and business outcomes.
• Support forecasting, budgeting, and technology investment planning processes.

Risk, Compliance, and Governance

• Ensure compliance with corporate policies, cybersecurity standards, regulatory requirements, and audit controls.
• Identify and mitigate operational and technology-related risks.
• Maintain appropriate governance processes for application and vendor management.

Continuous Improvement and Innovation

• Drive process improvements, automation, and technology optimization opportunities.
• Evaluate emerging technologies and AI-enabled capabilities that can enhance business value and operational efficiency.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Scope and Impact

• Accountable for a global portfolio of more than 120 enterprise applications.
• Oversees delivery and performance of more than 40 external resources across multiple vendors.
• Influences technology strategy, service delivery models, investment decisions, and operational priorities.
• Supports business continuity and operational effectiveness for critical enterprise functions.
• Operates with significant autonomy while partnering with DTS and business leadership on strategic initiatives.

The IT Business Manager independently determines support strategies, service delivery approaches, vendor management actions, operational priorities, and improvement initiatives within established governance frameworks. The role exercises judgment in balancing business needs, resource constraints, risk considerations, and financial objectives to achieve optimal business outcomes.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related field.

Experience

• 10+ years of experience in Information Technology, Application Management, Service Delivery, Business Relationship Management, or related disciplines.
• Experience managing enterprise application portfolios in a global environment.
• Demonstrated success managing vendors, outsourced services, and cross-functional stakeholder relationships.
• Experience overseeing operational budgets and technology service delivery.

This role is responsible for ensuring technology services deliver measurable business value through effective governance, strong business partnerships, operational excellence, and strategic management of enterprise applications and service providers.
