Job Duties:

The Psychology Department invites applications for an Assistant Teaching Professor of Psychology to join a student-centered academic community committed to teaching excellence, access, and student success. In alignment with UW-Green Bay’s mission to fearlessly meet challenges, embrace diversity, care for the region, and provide educational opportunity for all, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate and graduate courses in multiple modalities, including Psychopathology/Abnormal Psychology, Counseling and Psychotherapy, Theories of Counseling, Counseling Microskills, and additional courses within their area of expertise. Key Job Responsibilities:

• Teach 27 credits of undergraduate and/or graduate courses per academic year in multiple modalities (in-person and online) including sections of undergraduate Psychopathology/Abnormal Psychology, Counseling and Psychotherapy, and graduate courses in Theories of Counseling and Counseling Microskills, as well as additional courses in the Psychology program curriculum within the candidate’s area of expertise.

• Attend Psychology faculty meetings, serve on departmental committees, engage in professional development, vote on matters concerning curriculum/programming, and mentoring undergraduate students.

• Implement inclusive instructional strategies to increase support for students from underrepresented and first-generation backgrounds at UW-Green Bay.

Compensation:

Competitive salary commensurate with qualifications and experience.This position is exempt from the overtime provisions of the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA).


Required Qualifications:

  • Earned Master’s in Psychology in an applied field (which could include but is not limited to: Counseling Psychology, Clinical Psychology, Sport Psychology, Forensic Psychology) or related field from an accredited institution or anticipated prior to starting date.
  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in teaching online and in-person
  • Commitment to undergraduate and graduate education
  • Communication and interpersonal skills sufficient to work effectively with a diverse array of students and colleagues.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Earned Doctorate in an applied field of Psychology or a related field from an accredited institution or anticipated prior to starting date
  • Experience teaching online and in-person clinical or counseling psychology courses

Conditions of Appointment:

The home campus of this position is Green Bay and the successful candidate may be required to teach an occasional course at the Sheboygan or Manitowoc Campus.


Position is a full-time, 9-month, non-tenure track, Instructional Academic Staff appointment. Finalist(s) will need to consent to a verification of academic credentials through a third-party education check provider authorized by the University. A criminal conviction investigation will be conducted on the finalist(s). Employee Misconduct
