Overall Role Overview
As an integral member of the Walt Disney Attractions Japan (WDAJ) Executive Committee, this role provides strategic leadership and direction acrossAccounting & Tax, General Administration, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), and Environmental initiatives in support of the long-term success of Tokyo Disney Resort (TDR).
Leveraging strong financial, governance, and operational expertise, the role partners closely with the Oriental Land Company (OLC), Disney’s licensee, toinfluence, advise, and support the implementation of effective financial, administrative, compliance, and governance practices within a licensing model.
Serving as astrategic advisor and governance steward, this role supportssound financial management and risk mitigation, as well as enablingoperational efficiency that is aligned with andreinforcesDisney’s standards.
The role requires strongcross-functional and global collaboration across WDAJ, OLC stakeholders, and Disney corporate partners.
2. Responsibilities & Accountabilities
A. Overall Leadership & Governance
- Provide strategic leadership and direction across Accounting & Tax, General Administration, CSR, and Environment functions at WDAJ and serves as a key business partner to internal senior leadership,and makesdecisions related to govenance and risk management
- Maintain and strengthenstrategic relationships with OLC Directors and Officer and other key external partners (e.g., PwC) onfinancial, administrative, compliance, and governance matters
- Lead, develop, and performance-manage teams
- Drivecontinuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency, governance, and cross-functional collaboration
B. Accounting & Finance
- Oversee financial management, includingbudgeting, forecasting, internal controls, and compliance with Disney corporate policies and local statutory requirements
- Ensureaccurate and timely financial reporting  and lead accounting operations
- Partner with internal and external partners to manage tax risks and prepare for audits
- Overseebusiness travel policies and expense governanceto ensure compliance and efficiency
- Support the establishment and governance ofnew entities, organizational changes, and system implementations (e.g., SAP)
C. General Administration
- Oversee General Affairs functions, includingoffice administration, facilities management, vendor management, and administrative services, ensuring a safe, efficient, and compliant work environment
- Partner with OLC Investor Relations and General Affairs to review and ensure thatOLC-led external communications and materials align with Disney brand and governance standards
- Oversee inbound and outboundbusiness travel services, policies, and guidelines in coordination with OLC and Disney partners
- Serve as aBack of House (BOH) Committee member, reviewing and approving OLC requests related to backstage intellectual property usage
D. CSR & Environmental Initiatives
- Partner with global Disney CSR teams and OLC to supportglobal initiatives
- Develop and leadannual CSR strategies and cast member volunteer programs
- Lead WDAJ sustainability efforts, includingEarth Month and Green Team initiatives
- Review and ensure that Disney brand-related OLC CSR, Environmental initiatives are aligned with Disney brand and governance standards, in partnering with OLC Investor Relations and General Affairs
3. Required Skills & Knowledge
Basic Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or related field
- Certified Public Accountant (CPA) or equivalent professional certification
- Minimum10+ years of progressive leadership experience in finance, accounting, or business administration
- Demonstrated expertise infinancial management, accounting operations, internal controls, compliance, and governance frameworks
- Strong understanding oftax, statutory reporting, and audit requirements, with experience working with external advisors (e.g., PwC)
- Executive presence with the ability toinfluence senior leaders and external stakeholders (including OLC)
- Proven ability tobuild strong relationships and influence in a partnership-based, matrixed environment
- Demonstrated success inleading, developing, and motivating teams, driving accountability and organizational capability
- Stronganalytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate complex data into strategic insights
- Ability to develop and implement strategies aligned withDisney standards, brand values, and governance requirements
- Excellentcommunication and presentation skills, including preparation of executive-level materials
- Proven ability tomanage multiple priorities in a complex, fast-paced environment
- High degree ofintegrity, business judgment, and resilience
- Fluency in English and Japanese (written and verbal)
Preferred Qualifications
- MBA or advanced degree in a related field
- Experience working in aglobal organization
- Experience leadingenterprise-wide initiatives (e.g., SAP implementation, process transformation, governance enhancements)
- Familiarity withCSR, environmental, and corporate governance frameworks in a multinational setting
- Experience working within acomplex, multi-functional organization (e.g., hospitality, theme parks, consumer-facing industries)
- Strong track record ofcross-functional collaboration and stakeholder integration
