International Transportation Analyst

Summary:
DHL eCommerce operates an international distribution network to deliver mail and parcels from businesses in the United States to e-Commerce consumers across the globe.  The International Transportation Analyst will support the International Lane Manager and the Network Team in undertaking route optimization for all outbound trade lanes; managing air freight cost; seamless implementation of changes and maintaining the core routing data tables.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

• Network Operations
• Support analyzing and optimizing routing to over 200 countries by balancing cost and service performance.
• Support implementation of measures to decrease cost and improve transit times and tracking while maintaining excellent customer service.
• Collaborate with terminal and airline operations to optimize process flows and implement new routings.
• Support maintenance of master routing data; support monitoring, updating and maintaining appropriate modules which integrates key components of international routing.
• Generate ideas of new tools for recurring analysis like volume analysis; support driving report enhancements and automation; create and maintain documentations for routings changes, operational SOP among others

International Transportation 

• Work closely with distribution center staff and airfreight vendors to assure cost-effective, high-performance and fully compliant air transportation.
• Support creating KPIs to monitor vendor’s performance.
• Support ongoing negotiations for air cargo contracts, and annual airfreight RFP.
• Conduct scheduled reviews with terminal management to monitor volumes, delays, backlogs, and coordinate air transportation to mitigate any potential service impacts.
• Provide pro-active and immediate communication for service disruptions.
• Work together with terminals to create air transportation paperwork compliant with all cross-functional department SOP’s and requirements.

Requirements/Skills:

• Excellent analytical and trouble shooting skills.
• Proficient in MS Office suite; with advanced skills in Excel & basic knowledge of Access.
• Enjoys working with numbers and interest to learn database applications, data analysis tools, and data visualization tools.
• Self-starter with excellent time management and the ability to adapt to rapid changes in the work environment.
• Well rounded and comfortable working with international and cross-functional teams.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Excellent organizational and presentation abilities.

Education and Experience:

• Bachelor’s degree in International Business, Industrial Engineering, or related field.
• 2-3 years related work experience, preferably in international, cross-functional projects.

Physical Demands:

• Physical demands are mostly consistent with a professional office setting. 
• Regular sitting at work station for 25 – 75% of the work shift
• Frequent standing and walking
