Client:
Anindustry-leading architectural engineering firm headquartered in New York City with nationwide reach. Main expertise is the design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection building systems. Accountability and transparency are embedded throughout all departments ensuring engineering excellence matched by operational clarity.
Description:
Currently searching for an experienced BIM Manager (architectural design engineer) to join this growing MEP firm.
HYBRID SCHEDULE (3 days in office; 2 at home) OR WOULD CONSIDER REMOTE WFH
Responsibilities:
- Develop, maintain, and enforce BIM/CAD standards, templates, and content libraries (Revit families, AutoCAD blocks, title blocks) across all engineering disciplines.
- Maintain project templates and ensure consistency across projects (layers, naming conventions, sheet setups, annotation styles)
- Evaluate and implement new BIM/CAD tools and workflows (clash detection tools, point cloud/scan-to-BIM software, generative design tools)
- Manage software licensing, deployment, updates and troubleshooting in coordination with IT.
- Set up and manage project models, work-sharing, and Revit central files.
- Perform regular Revit model and CAD background setup and updates.
- Provide daily BIM/CAD troubleshooting support to engineering staff.
- Identify workflow inefficiencies and implement BIM/CAD process improvements.
- Track industry trends for firm adoption.
- Laise with architects, GC’s and other engineering disciplines on model sharing protocols and file exchange standards.
- 5 + years of experience as a BIM Manager at an AEC firm, often progressing through roles as a BIM technician or modeler.
- Deep mastery of Revit, AutoCAD, and Navisworks.
- Experience with cloud environments like Autodesk Construction cloud, BIM 360, etc.
- Understanding of scheduling, cost estimates, BIM workflows, and code compliance.
- Ability to train, guide, and support other BIM coordinators and modelers.
- Great communication skills to explain technical data for non-technical stakeholders and consultants.
- Systematic QA/QC model auditing, issue tracking, and conflict resolution across all disciplines.
BS Engineering or similar.
