Intermediate Mechanical Designer-Engineer | Retail, commercial, hospitality, and restaurant projects
Client:
Anindustry-leading architectural engineering firm headquartered in New York City with nationwide reach. Main expertise is the design of mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection building systems. Accountability and transparency are embedded throughout all departments ensuring engineering excellence matched by operational clarity.
Description:
Immediate need for an effective Mechanical Designer-Engineer who can serve as a Lead Engineer on assigned projects. HYBRID SCHEDULE (3 days in office; 2 at home)
Responsibilities:
- Serve as a Lead Mechanical Engineer on assigned selected projects.
- Design and drafting mechanical technical documentation utilizing both Revit MEP and AutoCAD.
- Perform mechanical load calculations, ventilation calculations, and equipment sizing.
- Perform emergency compliance using Comcheck.
- Perform full MEP site surveys and reports.
- Review submittals and shop drawings.
- 5+ years of experience as a mechanical designer engineer at engineering consultancies.
- Proven experience in mechanical engineering and familiar with relevant codes such as IMC, IECC, and ASHRAE 90.1.
- Ability to read and implement mechanical design documentation.
- Proficiency in both Revit and AutoCAD.
- EIT certification is desired but not required.
- Ambition for career advancement and on a track to obtain a license.
- Knowledge of plumbing design is desired but not required.
BSME degree required.
