Location: Glen Allen, VA / Richmond Area | Hybrid
Pay Rate: $90–$110/hour
Engagement: Contract, approximately 2–3 months

Cherry Bekaert Recruiting & Staffing is seeking an experiencedInterim Controller to support a complex, multi-entity organization during a leadership transition and upcoming audit period. This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for an accomplished accounting professional who can quickly step in, provide stability to the accounting function, and oversee day-to-day financial operations. The role will partner closely with the CFO and cross-functional leaders and will be responsible for accounting operaations, financial close, multi-entity consolidations, reporting, internal controls, and audit support.

Responsibilities

• Support the CFO during month-end financial reviews 

• Lead day-to-day accounting operations across a complex, multi-entity environment
• Manage and oversee month-end close activities
• Provide leadership to 9 accountants and broader oversight across a 15-person accounting department
• Oversee Accounts Receivable, Accounts Payable, general ledger, reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Manage multi-entity consolidations and related reporting
• Maintain strong accounting policies and internal controls
• Provide technical accounting leadership and ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP
• Support external audit activities and coordinate with auditors
• Partner with FP&A/Financial Reporting, Treasury, Tax, Legal, operational leaders, corporate accounting, and systems teams

Qualifications

• Significant Controller-level or senior accounting leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, including ASC 606 revenue recognition and ASC 326 credit-loss reserving
• Experience managing complex accounting operations and multi-entity environments
• Demonstrated ability to lead and manage accounting teams
• Strong ERP experience; NetSuite experience is a plus
• Excellent communication and project management skills
• Manufacturing, assembly, inventory, or job-costing knowledge is beneficial but not required
• Ability to work onsite in the Glen Allen/Richmond area approximately 2-3 days per week
• Ability to be onsite full-time during the upcoming audit period
