Our client, a bank in San Diego, is seeking an experiencedInterim Controller to provide temporary financial leadership and oversee accounting and financial reporting operations during a four-month engagement.
Responsibilities
- Oversee day-to-day accounting operations and financial reporting.
- Manage the general ledger, month-end and year-end close processes, and account reconciliations.
- Ensure the accuracy and integrity of financial statements and management reports.
- Maintain compliance with applicable banking regulations, accounting standards, and internal controls.
- Review financial results, investigate discrepancies, and resolve accounting issues.
- Coordinate with finance, accounting, and other internal stakeholders to support timely reporting.
- Support audits, regulatory reporting, and internal control requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, reporting accuracy, and operational efficiency.
- Extensive experience in accounting, financial reporting, and controllership.
- Previous experience serving as a Controller, Interim Controller, Assistant Controller, or in a comparable senior accounting leadership role.
- Experience within banking or financial services, preferably at a commercial or regional bank.
- Strong knowledge of general ledger management, financial statements, reconciliations, and close processes.
- Familiarity with financial controls, audit requirements, and regulatory compliance.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder-management skills.
- Ability to quickly assess existing processes and provide effective financial leadership in a temporary assignment.
