AnInstrumentationCoordinatorworks to prepare, sterilize, install, assemble,andor clean all clinic or healthcare equipmentrequired for surgeries, examinations, and medical procedures. TheInstrumentation Coordinator ensures equipment, instruments, and supplies can be reused safely to prevent infections.This position is for ensuring sterilized, appropriately functioningmedical supplies and instrumentation are packaged and delivered to the point use aseptically. Additionally, this position needs to serve as a clinicalliaison between the Operating Rooms and the CSS offsite location to track andallocate sterilized instrumentation across the Enterprise.This position will alsobe responsible forprocuring, and standardizing instrument trays across the Enterprise. This position will beutilized 24/7 in multiple reprocessing sites across the Health System, to include Ross Heart Hospital, University Hospital, James Cancer Hospital, Same Day Surgery, University HospitalEast and all Ambulatory sites.Â

Position Summary
Coordination and oversight of daily activities between the Operating Room and Sterile Processing Departments tofacilitate efficient case flow, through efficient case cart assembly and decontamination,assembly and sterilization/high level disinfection of all reprocessed surgicalinventory. Responsible forassisting in projects and process improvement. Promotes customer service and patientsatisfaction througheffective communication with Operating Roomclinical operations and multiple sterile processing departments across the Medical Center.Also responsible for ordering,procuring and organizing instrument trays on a global level to service the entire Enterprise.Â
Minimum Qualifications
High School diploma or GED. Certification or vocational training may be preferred. Certified Registered Central Service Technician (CRCST) - Healthcare Sterile Processing Association (HSPA) or Certified Sterile Processing and Distribution Technician certification (CSPDT) issued through The Certification Board for Sterile Processing and Distribution (CBSPD) required upon hire or must obtain certification within 6 months of hire. 1 year of relevant experience required. 2-4 years of relevant experience preferred.

Requires 1 Year experience and CRCST or CBSPD certification.
