We are seeking an experienced Injury Management and Wellbeing Partner to join our Health, Safety & Wellbeing team.
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys building capability, influencing stakeholders and improving systems and outcomes. While wellbeing forms an important part of this role, the primary focus is the leadership and continual improvement of our workers compensation, injury management and return-to-work programs across Australia.
Reporting to the Head of Health, Safety & Wellbeing, and with one direct report, you will have the opportunity to build on our existing programs with key internal and external stakeholders, to improve our claims performance, return-to-work outcomes, and leader capability across our Australian operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, implement and evaluate injury management, early intervention and wellbeing programs that improve employee outcomes and reduce both business and workers compensation costs.
- Lead claims governance and strategy reviews with insurers, brokers and rehabilitation providers to improve claim duration, cost outcomes and sustainable return-to-work performance
- Ensure injury management and return-to-work strategies across Australian operations, ensuring timely, consistent and sustainable outcomes.
- Provide specialist advice and coaching to leaders on workers compensation obligations, injury management and return-to-work practices.
- Develop and monitor individual return-to-work plans and support leaders to implement suitable duties and early intervention strategies.
- Lead, coach and develop a direct report, building capability, accountability and consistency across injury management, return-to-work and wellbeing activities nationally.
- Analyse claims and injury data to identify trends, risks and improvement opportunities, providing meaningful insights and recommendations to the business.
- Drive continuous improvement across systems, processes, reporting and leader capability, partnering closely with the broader Health, Safety & Wellbeing team.
- Support workers compensation governance activities including remuneration declarations and statutory compliance obligations.
You are an experienced injury management and workers compensation professional who combines technical expertise with empathy and strong commercial judgement.
You understand that successful return to work requires more than administering claims. You can bring together employees, leaders, insurers and rehabilitation providers to develop practical solutions while balancing recovery, compliance, business requirements and sustainable outcomes.
You will bring:
- Demonstrated experience leading injury management and workers compensation programs within a complex, multi-site organisation.
- Demonstrated experience influencing insurers, claims agents, brokers, rehabilitation providers and operational leaders to achieve improved claims and recovery outcomes
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance employee recovery outcomes, compliance obligations and claims performance.
- Strong understanding of workers compensation legislation and employer obligations across Australian jurisdictions.
- Demonstrated experience managing complex claims and developing effective return-to-work strategies.
- Strong coaching, influencing and stakeholder management capability.
- Strong analytical and financial acumen with the ability to interpret workers compensation performance data and translate insights into practical actions across the business.
- Excellent organisational skills and the ability to manage multiple cases, priorities and deadlines.
- A proactive, empathetic and solutions-focused approach.
Highly Regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in allied health, rehabilitation, or a related discipline.
- Experience supporting a large, multi-site or geographically dispersed workforce.
