Room Attendant

The Opportunity

We are seeking a Room Attendant to help keep our guest rooms spotless, comfortable, and ready to welcome every traveler who walks through the door. In this role, you are responsible for cleaning and servicing guest rooms to the hotel's high standards, restocking amenities, and reporting any maintenance needs you spot along the way.

The ideal Room Attendant takes real pride in their work and understands that a beautifully clean, well-appointed room is often a guest's first true taste of the hotel's hospitality. They're efficient and detail-oriented, able to move through a full room checklist quickly without ever cutting corners, and they bring a quiet reliability their team can count on shift after shift. Comfortable working independently but always a team player when it's time to help a colleague catch up, they treat every room like it's the one they'd want to walk into themselves.

Key Responsibilities

·      Clean and service guest rooms according to hotel brand standards, including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, and sanitizing bathrooms

·      Restock guest room amenities, linens, and supplies to PAR levels, including mini bar items

·      Inspect rooms for damage, wear, or maintenance issues and promptly report findings to housekeeping leadership or maintenance

·      Operate cleaning equipment and use chemicals safely and correctly, following all safety data sheet (SDS) and

Cal/OSHA guidelines

·      Maintain and organize housekeeping carts and supply closets

·      Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests for extra amenities or service

·      Follow proper protocols for handling lost and found items

·      Communicate warmly, professionally, and respectfully with guests encountered in hallways or rooms during service

·      Meet daily room quotas while maintaining consistent quality and attention to detail

·      Adhere to all health, safety, and sanitation standards, including proper linen handling   

         Preventing cross-contamination

·      Support turndown service and special requests as needed

Qualifications

·      Prior housekeeping or cleaning experience preferred; hotel experience a plus

·      Ability to follow detailed cleaning checklists and brand standards consistently

·      Physical stamina for a fast-paced, hands-on role involving repetitive motion, bending, and lifting

·      Basic understanding of cleaning chemical safety, or willingness to be trained

·      Reliable, punctual, and able to work efficiently with minimal supervision

·      Flexible availability, including weekends and holidays

·      Respectful, guest-friendly demeanor when encountering guests during service

Work Environment

·      Physically active role involving continuous walking, standing, bending, kneeling, and lifting throughout the shift

·      Regular use of cleaning chemicals and equipment

·      Frequent brief interactions with guests in hallways and rooms

·      Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs (linens, supplies, vacuum equipment)

Compensation & Benefits

Hourly Wage Range: $25.00 per hour

Work Environment & Physical Requirements

Active, hands-on role requiring extended periods of standing, walking, bending, and lifting throughout the shift. Frequent use of cleaning equipment and chemicals. Ability to lift and carry up to 30 lbs and move between guest rooms and floors throughout the day.
