Position Summary
The Quality Associate – Electrical Assemblies is responsible for inspecting, documenting, and verifying the quality of electrical assemblies manufactured within the company’s prefab and modular manufacturing operation. This position ensures assemblies are built in accordance with approved drawings, specifications, applicable electrical codes, company standards, and customer requirements before being released for shipment or installation.
The Quality Associate works closely with Manufacturing, Electrical Operations, BIM/VDC, Engineering, Project Management, and QA/QC teams to identify deficiencies, prevent rework, and ensure electrical assemblies are complete, accurate, and ready for field installation. The position plays a critical role in maintaining quality and consistency across high-volume electrical prefabrication supporting data center and mission critical projects.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Inspect electrical assemblies throughout the manufacturing process and prior to shipment to verify compliance with approved drawings, specifications, and quality standards.
- Verify assemblies are constructed accurately and completely according to approved plans, drawings, and build documentation.
- Inspect conduit assemblies, supports, racks, electrical equipment assemblies, cable tray assemblies, modular electrical systems, and other prefabricated electrical components.
- Verify dimensions, routing, component placement, labeling, connections, and workmanship.
- Confirm materials and components are consistent with approved submittals and project requirements.
- Identify defective, incomplete, or non-conforming work and communicate findings to manufacturing and project leadership.
- Perform final inspections and verify assemblies are ready for shipment and field installation.
- Complete inspection checklists, quality documentation, and required inspection records.
- Document deficiencies and track corrective actions through completion.
- Maintain accurate records of inspections, rework, approvals, and final release of assemblies.
- Verify required inspection points are completed before assemblies move to the next stage of production.
- Assist in developing and improving inspection checklists, quality standards, and inspection procedures.
- Maintain appropriate revision control and ensure inspections are performed against the current approved drawings and documentation.
- Read and interpret electrical drawings, schematics, one-lines, specifications, installation details, and fabrication drawings.
- Compare completed assemblies against drawings and approved BIM/VDC models when applicable.
- Identify discrepancies between drawings, models, and manufactured assemblies.
- Coordinate with BIM/VDC, Engineering, and Project Management when clarification or drawing revisions are required.
- Verify that approved changes and revisions have been incorporated into the manufacturing process.
- Verify electrical assemblies are manufactured in accordance with applicable NEC requirements, project specifications, approved submittals, and company standards.
- Identify potential code or installation concerns and escalate them to appropriate technical or QA/QC leadership.
- Support compliance with customer-specific quality requirements and data center/mission critical standards.
- Work directly with manufacturing personnel to identify recurring quality issues and improve production processes.
- Partner with Field Operations to understand installation requirements and identify issues that could affect field installation.
- Provide feedback regarding constructability, installation methods, and assembly quality.
- Participate in quality meetings and production meetings as needed.
- Assist with root-cause analysis and corrective action when recurring deficiencies are identified.
- Help establish inspection standards that promote consistent quality from the manufacturing facility through field installation.
- Perform final quality inspections prior to release of assemblies for shipment.
- Verify assemblies are properly labeled, documented, protected, and packaged for transportation.
- Confirm required documentation and inspection records are complete prior to release.
- Coordinate with manufacturing and logistics personnel to address quality issues before shipment.
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Performs other related duties as assigned to ensure efficient and effective completion of projects.
- Assists with continuous improvement initiatives designed to improve quality, reduce rework, and increase manufacturing efficiency.
- Supports audits, customer inspections, and quality reviews as required.
Qualifications
Education and Experience
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- 1+ years of experience in electrical construction, electrical manufacturing, electrical inspection, QA/QC, or a related field preferred.
- Electrical field experience as an electrician, electrical foreman, or similar position strongly preferred.
- Experience inspecting prefabricated electrical assemblies or modular electrical systems preferred.
- Experience supporting data center, mission critical, commercial, or industrial electrical projects preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret electrical construction drawings and specifications required.
Skills, Knowledge and Abilities
- Strong understanding of electrical construction methods, materials, and installation practices.
- Working knowledge of NEC requirements and electrical quality standards.
- Ability to identify workmanship issues and potential installation problems.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to identify discrepancies between drawings and completed assemblies.
- Ability to read electrical drawings, one-lines, schematics, fabrication drawings, and specifications.
- Ability to use measurement and inspection tools to verify assembly dimensions and workmanship.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong organizational and documentation skills.
- Ability to work effectively with manufacturing, engineering, BIM/VDC, project management, and field personnel.
- Ability to work independently while knowing when to escalate quality concerns.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and construction/project documentation software preferred.

- Talk and hear, ability to communicate with others both written and orally and through use of IPAD or tablet.
- Possess good vision, normal or corrected. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
- Possesses good hearing, normal or corrected. Wear personal protective equipment (hard hat, safety glasses, safety vest, work boots), as needed.
- Must be able to work 8 hours a day, 40 hours per week, and overtime as required and night shifts, as needed.
- Must be able to work with little or no interference or disruption to production line staff, unless non-conformances are found.
