The Merchandising team leads category strategy development and execution, focusing on customer insights, market trends, and financial performance. This group manages assortment optimization, supplier negotiations, and omnichannel initiatives to drive sales and profitability. Collaborating cross-functionally, the team enhances the customer experience and operational excellence through disciplined merchandising and data-driven decisions. Leaders foster accountability, continuous improvement, and talent development to ensure sustainable business growth. Their efforts are central to delivering Walmart’s value proposition by balancing customer needs with financial objectives and maintaining strong supplier partnerships.
What you'll do:

Develop and execute comprehensive category and assortment strategies aligned with business objectives and market trends.
Lead and manage a high-performing merchandising team, providing guidance, development, and performance oversight.
Oversee profit and loss management, pricing decisions, and promotional strategies to maximize category profitability.
Collaborate cross-functionally to optimize channel strategies and supply chain alignment.
Drive supplier negotiations, establish terms, and ensure effective supplier relationship management.
Utilize data analytics to inform decisions, monitor performance, and implement continuous improvements.
Support private brand initiatives and product development to enhance category offerings.

What you'll bring:

Proven expertise in category and assortment strategy development for complex merchandising environments.
Strong financial management skills, including profit and loss ownership and budget forecasting.
Demonstrated ability to lead, develop, and engage high-performing teams with a focus on talent development.
Experience in supplier negotiations and managing vendor relationships to drive price leadership and profitability.
Proficiency in leveraging data analytics and digital tools to inform strategic decisions and optimize category performance.
Ability to align channel strategies and execute merchandising initiatives across omni-channel platforms.
Exceptional business planning and negotiation skills to support long-term growth and operational excellence.

The annual salary range for this position is $110,000.00 - $220,000.00 Additional compensation includes annual or quarterly performance bonuses. Additional compensation for certain positions may also include :

Minimum Qualifications...

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Merchandising , or related field and 5 years’ experience in merchandising management, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area. OR 7 years’ experience in merchandising management, buying, financial planning, operations, or related area.

2 years’ supervisory experience.
