- Supervise part of the refurbishing team during a refurbishing project.; handle all work related to upholstery and carpet refurbishing
- Responsible for the 1st quality control check for the work done by the upholstery team
- Responsible for the re-upholstery of all sofa beds, chairs, stools, armchairs and all other soft goods as required
- In charge of the upholstery team and accountable for the quality and final result of the upholstery areas to be refurbished
- In charge of the re-carpeting of all areas to be refurbished
- Accountable for keeping an inventory of all working equipment materials and store it in a safe area
- Accountable for keeping a proper work schedule of the subordinates in order to keep the overall schedule
- Accountable for the efficient use of the material provided for the project
- Responsible for the tidiness of the working area
- Report for work on time: clean, tidy and dressed in the appropriate uniform
- Flexibility to adjust to project needs as required
- Responsible for fire precautions, especially when storing and handling fabrics and other materials which are easily flammable
Basic Qualifications
- One to two years experience working as an Upholsterer on large cruise vessel preferred
- Proficient in all areas of upholstery
- Strong in supervision and organization skills
- Good communicator and coordinator
- Able to work under time pressure
- Detail oriented
Additional Information
This is a SHIPBOARD role.You must:
- Be genuinely interested in a career at sea and willing to live and work onboard a Disney Cruise Line vessel
- Be willing to follow and perform safety role, emergency responsibilities, and associated responsibilities as specified in the ship Assembly Plan
- Be willing to uphold the general safety management responsibilities as specified in the Safety Management System in areas and operations under their control
- If applicable, be willing to share a confined cabin with other crew members and appreciative of working and living in a multicultural environment that has strict rules and regulations
- Have a valid passport and C1/D Seaman's visa (DCL will provide you with documents to obtain this)
- Complete a pre-employment medical
- Obtain a criminal background check
- Bring approved work shoes
