Principal/Director, Data Analytics Consulting for Financial Services

We're looking for an outstandingData Analytics Principal/Director to act as a trusted partner for senior client executives (CTOs, CIOs, Managing Directors, Regional VPs) within Financial Services organizations. The position blends three essential skill sets: in-depth knowledge of data and AI technology, solid consulting expertise, and demonstrated success in program/delivery management. You'll head our Financial Services Offering portfolio across Europe, building out capabilities, teams, and go-to-market approaches alongside other EPAM teams, while driving major engagements from sales, consulting, and delivery oversight angles.

This role is hybrid, with flexibility to work from anywhere in Greece.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with client executives on major Data & AI initiatives, spanning data strategy, enterprise-wide platform development, and AI transformation from use-case selection through production and adoption
• Play an active role in shaping and growing Financial Services D&A offerings, serving as the regional point of contact
• Cultivate business opportunities, taking ownership of RFP/RFQ/RFI responses, including winning strategy, formal structuring, and storytelling
• Oversee the FS project portfolio, offering consistent delivery oversight across key engagements
• Develop and sustain long-term client relationships built on value delivery
• Direct the early stages of strategic engagements, including establishing program vision, defining success criteria, assembling the right team, and setting up governance
• Advise delivery teams on regulatory and compliance matters within the financial sector, covering controls and evidence that AI-enabled solutions need to meet
• Mentor and guide up-and-coming consultants within FS D&A

Requirements

• Over 15 years of experience in data, analytics, and technology consulting, with leadership experience (Senior Manager, Director, or similar) at consulting firms, financial institutions, or advisory organizations
• Demonstrated capability to drive large-scale data and AI transformation initiatives while serving as a trusted advisor to C-level stakeholders
• A degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Applied Mathematics, or a related discipline is preferred
• German language proficiency is a significant advantage
• Strong grasp of banking and financial services, encompassing data models, processing systems, operating models, and core business KPIs
• Familiarity with applicable regulatory and compliance frameworks, such as Basel 3.1/CRR3, BCBS239, AML/AFC, DORA, EU AI Act, and model risk management
• Proficiency with modern data platforms, including hands-on implementation in AWS, Azure, or GCP environments
• Working knowledge of Databricks and other enterprise-grade data platforms
• Solid understanding of data architecture, data modeling, governance, lineage, observability, real-time processing, and large-scale data management
• Skill in converting business problems into data and AI solutions, and in advising executives on strategy, feasibility, risk, and value creation
• Background across contemporary AI capabilities, such as Machine Learning, RAG, Agentic Systems, and multimodal AI
• Knowledge of AI governance, human oversight, explainability, auditability, and deployment factors within regulated settings
• Track record of leading discovery phases, establishing governance frameworks, and delivering large-scale enterprise data programs
• Capability to build target operating models, align stakeholders, and manage end-to-end delivery of transformation projects
• Firm grasp of computer science fundamentals, including algorithms, data structures, search technologies, and distributed systems

• Certifications validating expertise in data science, machine learning, or cloud technologies
• Background in integrating data science solutions with enterprise systems to boost operational efficiency
• Skill in advanced data visualization methods and tools for effectively conveying insights to stakeholders
