Job Description

1. Data Platform & Architecture (Collaborative Delivery)

  • Participate in theend‑to‑end build and evolution of enterprise‑scale GWB data platforms, including datamarts and analytics layers,in close collaboration with key Technology and delivery partners.
  • Contribute todata modelling standards, transformation logic and reusable engineering patterns, ensuring scalability, performance and consistency across countries and products.

2. Analytics Enablement & Business Partnership

  • Work closely withData Analysts / Scientists, Business stakeholders, Technology and Data Governance teams to enable governed self‑service analytics and downstream use cases.
  • Support advanced analytics initiatives (e.g. risk assurance, early warning, monetisation, GenAI‑enabled analytics) by helping ensurereliable, well‑structured and well‑documented data foundations.
  • Providetechnical input and practical perspectives to analytics leadership on feasibility, dependencies, sequencing and implementation considerations.

3. Governance, Risk & Regulatory Readiness

  • Ensure data engineering deliverables adhere todata access controls, country restrictions, governance approvals and regulatory requirements, particularly for cross‑border data use.
  • Supportinternal audits, model validation and regulatory reviews through clear documentation, traceability and explainability of data pipelines and transformations.

4. People & Capability Contribution

  • Contribute toraising engineering standards and good data practices within the GWB Data Analytics team through reviews, knowledge sharing and mentoring.
  • Review designs, code and delivery approaches, helping teammates developplatform‑level thinking rather than ad‑hoc solutions.

Required Experience & Qualifications

Essential

  • 8–12+ years of experience in data engineering, data platform or analytics engineering roles, preferably withinbanking or large regulated environments.
  • Hands‑on experienceparticipating in enterprise‑scale data platform or datamart implementations (EDW, Datamarts, Data Lakes), from requirements through to UAT and production.
  • Strong working knowledge ofSQL, data modelling, ETL / ELT frameworks, and performance optimisation concepts.
  • Experience working inmulti‑stakeholder delivery environments, collaborating with Technology, Business and Analytics teams.

Strongly Preferred

  • Exposure toWholesale Banking, Credit, Trade, Liquidity, Risk or Finance data domains.
  • Experience working withself‑service BI ecosystems, layered data architectures and governed analytics platforms.
  • Familiarity withdata governance, audit considerations and regulatory data controls in a banking environment.
  • Prior experience acting as atechnical lead, workstream lead, or senior individual contributor.
