Applications Development Sr Programmer Analyst - C12 - PUNE

We are seeking an experienced and dynamicApplication Development Senior Programmer Analyst to drive technical implementations within ourKnow Your Customer (KYC) and Client Lifecycle Management technology suite.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing and delivering high-performance, robust, and scalable end-to-end solutions. You will bridge complex business workflow orchestration (usingPega) with high-volume data integration and processing pipelines (usingAb Initio). You will collaborate closely with Compliance Officers, Business Analysts, Enterprise Architects, and Agile engineering squads to streamline KYC onboarding, periodic reviews, screening, and regulatory reporting systems.

Responsibilities:

1. Solution Architecture & Technical Delivery

• Lead the technical design, development, and end-to-end integration of workflow automation and ETL/data processing platforms supporting KYC workflows.

• Architect and configure Pega workflow solutions (case management, decision tables, SLAs, business rules, and UI integration).

• Design and optimize scalable Ab Initio graphs, plans, and components for high-throughput batch and continuous data processing.

• Ensure seamless interoperability between Pega case management and Ab Initio data ingestion/transformation layers.

2. KYC Domain Leadership

• Apply deep knowledge of KYC/AML regulations, Customer Due Diligence (CDD), Enhanced Due Diligence (EDD), Beneficiary Ownership verification, and sanctions/PEP screening to technology solution designs.

• Translate regulatory mandates and compliance business requirements into robust, auditable technical specifications and automated workflow logic.

• Ensure data governance, lineage, and audit trails comply with global regulatory standards.

3. Engineering Excellence & Modernization

• Promote development best practices including modular design, test automation, CI/CD pipeline integration, code reviews, and performance tuning.

• Identify optimization opportunities in legacy ETL workflows and data pipelines, driving modernization toward distributed big data frameworks (Hadoop/PySpark/Python).

• Establish and enforce coding standards, security controls, and vulnerability remediation protocols.

4. Team Leadership & Stakeholder Management

• Mentor, guide, and provide technical direction to junior and mid-level developers and technical leads.

• Collaborate with Product Owners, Scrum Masters, QA, and Infrastructure teams in an Agile/Scrum environment to ensure timely delivery of sprint goals.
• Act as the key liaison between compliance business stakeholders, operations, and technical teams during design walkthroughs, UAT, and production rollouts

5.Appropriately assess risk when business decisions are made, demonstrating particular consideration for the firm's reputation and safeguarding Citigroup, its clients and assets, by driving compliance with applicable laws, rules and regulations, adhering to Policy, applying sound ethical judgment regarding personal behavior, conduct and business practices, and escalating, managing and reporting control issues with transparency.

Recommended Qualifications:

• Experience: 8+ years of hands-on software development and integration experience within enterprise financial services or banking environments.

• Pega Expertise:

• Extensive experience withPega PRPC (v8.x or higher).

• Strong proficiency in Case Management, Flows, Flow Actions, Data Pages, Integration Services/Connectors (REST/SOAP), Activities, SLA rules, and Security Profiles.

• Pega certification (CSSA - Certified Senior System Architect or CLSA - Certified Lead System Architect) is highly desirable.

• Ab Initio Expertise:

• In-depth hands-on experience withAb Initio GDE, Co>Operating System, Conduct>It, and EME.

• Proven track record designing complex graphs, multi-file systems (MFS), vector manipulation, parameter sets, and performance optimization.

• Strong SQL and relational database proficiency (Oracle, PostgreSQL, or DB2).

• Domain Knowledge:

• Strong functional understanding ofKYC, AML, Client Onboarding, and Regulatory Compliance workflows.

• Familiarity with identity resolution, risk scoring models, and adverse media screening.

• Preferred / Advantageous Skills

  • Big Data & Analytics: Hands-on experience withPython, PySpark, and theHadoop ecosystem (HDFS, Hive, Spark, Kafka) for large-scale distributed data processing.
  • Cloud & Containerization: Familiarity with AWS/Azure/GCP cloud environments, OpenShift/Kubernetes, and Docker containers.
  • DevOps & Automation: Experience with CI/CD tools (Git, Jenkins, Bitbucket, Artifactory, Tekton/Harness).
  • Messaging & Middleware: Experience with message queues (Kafka, IBM MQ, RabbitMQ) and RESTful API microservices.

• Soft Skills & Leadership Capabilities

  • Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate technical solutions to senior non-technical stakeholders.
• Proven ability to manage multiple deliverables in a fast-paced, high-governance environment.

Education:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, or related discipline.
