Valley Veterinarian Clinic in Twisp, WA is hiring part-time and full-time Licensed Veterinary Technicians.

We will provide you training and mentorship in small animal medicine. You'll gain practice in treating disease and injury in a supportive learning environment.

What sets us apart is that we are a clinic, not a corporation. We have been in practice since 1978 and are important members of the Methow Valley community in North Central WA. We practice veterinary medicine, not profit maximization.

You can work part-time or full time. Clinic hours are 8 am to 5 pm, Monday to Friday. Evening or weekend work is not required. Pay is $25 to $30/hour, depending on experience. You are eligible for our full benefits package if you work at least 32 hours/week.

Who You Are

  • You are a licensed (or license-eligible) Veterinarian Technician in the state of Washington.
  • You live in or near the Methow Valley and would have a reasonable daily commute to work in Twisp.
  • You are calm and competent when working with animals of different temperaments, including those in distress.
  • You are skilled in anesthesia monitoring, patient care and clinical procedures such as lab diagnostics and radiography (x-ray).
  • You have a strong attention to detail. You know that a practice does not run smoothly unless everyone masters the details of their own work.
  • It's a plus if you have large animal experience and want to help us restart our large animal practice.
  • You're dependable and you plan your time off in advance, so that if you miss work, it’s for an important reason.
  • You have professional maturity and you are a clear and thoughtful communicator. You prefer working in a team because you work best with others.

What You'll Do

  • Assist veterinarians with exams, diagnostics, treatments and surgeries.
  • Safely and competently handle and restrain our animal patients.
  • Collect and process lab samples including blood, urine and cytology. Take and position patients for radiography (x-ray).
  • Assist with dental cleanings and taking dental radiographs
  • IInduce, monitor and recover patients from anesthesia.
  • Administer medications and treatments as instructed by veterinarians.
  • Maintain accurate medical records and ensure compliance with medical standards and clinic protocols
  • Be a great team member. Contribute to a positive, respectful, and efficient workplace.
