Job Title: Power BI Developer
Location: Bangalore
Work Mode: Work from Office (5 Days a Week)
Shift Timing: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM
Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Power BI Developer with strong expertise in Power BI, DAX, SQL, and Data Modeling to design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade reporting and analytics solutions for the Insurance domain. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience building interactive dashboards, translating complex business requirements into analytical solutions, and delivering actionable insights that support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
  • Design, develop, and maintain enterprise-grade Power BI dashboards and reports.
  • Create intuitive, interactive visualizations that enable data-driven business decisions.
  • Translate complex datasets into meaningful insights, trends, and business recommendations.
  • Develop and maintain Power BI reports across multiple business functions, including Sales, Finance, Operations, and Insurance.
  • Build complex DAX measures, calculated columns, calculated tables, and advanced time intelligence calculations.
  • Develop robust data models following dimensional modeling and Power BI best practices.
  • Perform data transformation and cleansing using Power Query (M).
  • Write and optimize complex SQL queries to extract and analyze data from relational and cloud-based data platforms.
  • Collaborate with Data Engineers, Solution Architects, Business Analysts, and stakeholders to integrate Power BI with enterprise data platforms.
  • Document report logic, data models, business definitions, and insurance-specific calculations.
  • Optimize report performance, usability, and scalability using Power BI Performance Analyzer and DAX optimization techniques.
  • Ensure data quality, accuracy, governance, and adherence to reporting standards.
  • Participate in requirement gathering, solution design, testing, deployment, and production support.
Required Skills & Qualifications
  • 5+ years of experience in Business Intelligence, Analytics, or Power BI development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with Power BI Desktop and Power BI Service.
  • Advanced expertise in DAX, including:
    • Measures and calculated columns
    • Context transition
    • Time Intelligence
    • Variables (VAR)
    • Iterator functions
    • Performance optimization
  • Strong experience with Power Query (M) for data transformation.
  • Advanced SQL skills with experience in writing and optimizing complex queries.
  • Strong understanding of data warehousing concepts and dimensional modeling (Star Schema and Snowflake Schema).
  • Experience integrating Power BI with enterprise data platforms such as:
    • Azure Synapse Analytics
    • SQL Server
    • Snowflake
    • Azure SQL Database
  • Experience in report optimization, Row-Level Security (RLS), Incremental Refresh, and Power BI deployment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to explain technical solutions clearly.
