Job Description
HR GeneralistGENERAL SUMMARY:
The Human Resources Generalist. assists with the administration of the day-to-day operations of the Human Resources Department. This position is responsible for supporting departmental goals and initiatives, employee relations, training and development, compensation, policy development and administration, benefits administration, employment, HRIS and related functional areas of departmental responsibility.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
•Manages the employment and staffing functions for the facility.
•Manages employee orientation, development, training and employee recordkeeping.
•Interacts daily with employees and managers supporting employee relations.
•Responsible for interpreting company policy and/or union contract to facilitate consistent application..
•Acts as consultant to operation departments on topics relating to human resources
•Supports employee safety, wellness and related human capital initiatives.
•Proficiency in managing Federal, State and local employment regulations including EEO/AAP, FMLA, FLSA and other related employment regulations..
•Responsible for participating in union negotiations, mediations, grievances and other forms of dispute resolution.
•Prepares to assume a position of higher responsibility.

•This position is traditionally an office environment. There will be routine occasions that require incumbent to enter production areas to support departmental missions. This will cause exposure to noise, dust, petroleum products, machinery, moving vehicles, electrical wiring, compressed air and/or hazardous materials.
Experience Required:
Preferred Length & Type of Experience:•1 to 4 years experience as HR generalist or related managerial experience.
•Recent College graduates are encouraged to apply and will be under review.
Education Required:
Required Education:•BS degree in Human Resources or related field of study.
•Credentialing as PHR / SPHR preferred.
