Position OverviewÂ
The Human Resources Generalist provides hands-on HR support to employees and leaders across Armstrong. This role focuses on employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, HR administration, and supporting HR programs and initiatives. It is a blend of operational excellence and proactive partnership, ensuring HR practices are consistent, compliant, and aligned with our company values.Â

Key AccountabilitiesÂ
Employee Lifecycle ManagementÂ
- Serve as the primary contact for employees on HR policies, programs, and inquiriesÂ
- Coordinate full-cycle recruitment for assigned roles — posting jobs, screening candidates, scheduling interviews, and supporting offer preparationÂ
- Facilitate onboarding and orientation to ensure a smooth transition for new employeesÂ
- Maintain employee records and ensure data accuracy in HRIS systemsÂ
Employee Relations & SupportÂ
- Provide day-to-day guidance onbenefits,employee relations, performance, and workplace mattersÂ
- Support investigations and assist in implementing corrective actions when necessaryÂ
- Foster a positive and inclusive work environment aligned with Armstrong’s culture and valuesÂ
HR Programs & AdministrationÂ
- Administer and support HR programs such as annual reviews, merit increases, and recognition initiativesÂ
- Coordinate benefits enrollment, payroll changes, and leave management in collaboration with the Total Rewards teamÂ
- Maintain compliance with employment legislation (ADA, FMLA,EEOC, ERISA,OSHA,and so on)Â
- Manage leave administration (Federal and state programs)Â
- Prepare reports and maintain documentation for audits and compliance

Training, Development & EngagementÂ
- Support implementation of learning and development programs,
including individual development plans (IDP’s)Â
- Assist with employee engagement surveys, data analysis, and follow-up actionsÂ
- Help coordinate internal events and communication activities to strengthen culture and engagementÂ
HR Projects & Continuous ImprovementÂ
- Participate in HR initiatives such as policy updates, process enhancements, and system improvementsÂ
- Support change initiatives and workforce planning activities as neededÂ
Key Skills and QualificationsÂ
- Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related fieldÂ
- 2+ years of progressive HR experience, ideally in a corporate or manufacturing environment.Â
- Working knowledge ofUS employment laws and HR best practicesÂ
- Experience with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office SuiteÂ
- Strong interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skillsÂ
- High attention to detail, confidentiality, and organizational skillsÂ
