The Dallas Children's Advocacy Center is seeking an experienced Human Resources Assistant for the Human Resources Department.
GENERAL DESCRIPTION:
Provides administrative and operational support across key Human Resources functions, including employee engagement and recognition, onboarding and offboarding, training, compliance, HR systems and records, recruitment support, and department operations. This position helps create welcoming and well-organized employee experience while maintaining accurate records, supporting HR processes and initiatives, responding to routine employee needs, and ensuring a high level of confidentiality and customer service. The Human Resources Assistant works collaboratively with the HR team to support effective, consistent, and compliant people practices throughout the agency.
ABOUT DCAC: The mission of the Dallas Children's Advocacy Center is to improve the lives of abused children in Dallas County and to provide national leadership on child abuse issues. DCAC is a non-profit organization and the only agency of its kind in Dallas County, working in agreement with public and private agencies to investigate, prosecute, and provide healing services for child abuse
cases in Dallas County. We reduce the victimization of the child, remove barriers to investigation and treatment, and enhance criminal prosecution with our distinctive multidisciplinary and united approach to these complex and severe cases, all at no cost to our clients. Each year, DCAC serves over 13,000 children and their non-offending family members.

for our expertise in the identification, investigation, and prosecution of child abuse cases; cutting edge clinical services and programs for the victims and their non-offending family members; and our community and professional training programs.
Essential Duties and Key Responsibilities:
HR Department and Administrative Support
Provide administrative and logistical support for staff meetings, supervisor meetings, the Supervisor Retreat, governance activities, and other HR or agency meetings, including agendas, presentation updates, materials, catering, and related coordination.
Support HR projects, recurring processes, reports, audits, and departmental initiatives, ensuring timely follow-through and accurate documentation.
Serve as backup for payroll upon appropriate training and authorization and perform other HR administrative duties as assigned.
Participate in ongoing professional development related to human resources practices and assigned responsibilities.
Onboarding, Orientation and Offboarding
Coordinate administrative aspects of employee onboarding and offboarding, including checklists, new-hire announcements, assigned surveys, required documentation, and applicable HR system updates.
Support New Employee Orientation (NEO), including scheduling, communications, presentations, informational folders, welcome baskets, meal coordination, and other logistics.
Assist with employee training administration, including maintaining assigned content and eligibility in Absorb and monitoring completion of required new-hire and annual compliance training.
Compliance, Records and HR Systems
Provide administrative support for criminal, DFPS, and other required background screenings, ensuring completion in accordance with onboarding and recurring compliance schedules and maintaining accurate supporting records.
Create and maintain electronic personnel records, HR SharePoint resources, organizational charts, agency and HR calendars, workplace postings, and other HR documentation.
Assist with employment verifications, Employee Handbook updates, internal reports, audits, agency competency documents, and assigned Paycom succession planning updates.
Employee and Recruitment Support
Monitor the HR inbox, provide first-tier responses to routine employee inquiries, and appropriately route or escalate matters requiring additional HR review.
Provide administrative support for recruitment and applicant-tracking activities, including maintaining applicable Applicant Tracking System (ATS) information and resources.
Assist employees with routine HR and time and attendance questions while maintaining confidentiality, professionalism, and a high level of customer service.
Employee Culture and Recognition
Coordinate administrative and logistical support for employee engagement, recognition, wellness, and HR-sponsored activities, including staff recognition, Happy Cart, the annual Wellness Fair, and other employee events.
Maintain employee recognition schedules and coordinate service anniversaries, birthdays, recognition items, nametags, business cards, and related materials.
Provide administrative support to the Employee Engagement Committee, including meeting coordination, notes, and follow-up communications.
Other Duties:
Conduct various internal reports and audits, as requested.
Performs other HR generalist duties as assigned.
Attends on-going training in field subject matter
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
Education and Experience: Associate degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field, with a minimum of two (2) years of experience in a human resources assistant or similar support capacity. Alternatively, four (4) years of relevant human resources experience demonstrating equivalent knowledge and skills may be considered in lieu of the educational requirement. Experience working with a Human Resources Information System (HRIS) and payroll processes is required. Experience with Paycom is preferred.
Required License(s) or Certifications: Clear and valid Texas Driver’s License
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
General knowledge of human resources practices, processes, and administrative procedures.
Ability to maintain the strictest confidentiality regarding employee information, employee relations matters, and sensitive information handled by the Human Resources department.
Ability to accurately maintain HR records, documents, systems, calendars, and employee information.
Ability to create and maintain content on an employee intranet and other internal HR platforms.
Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities, recurring deadlines, and administrative responsibilities.
High degree of attention to detail, accuracy, follow-through, and resourcefulness.
Ability to work independently with appropriate direction and minimal supervision.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with a commitment to excellent internal and external customer service.
Ability to exercise tact, discretion, sound judgment, cultural sensitivity, flexibility, and professionalism.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Work Location: All work must be performed in the office due to employee confidentiality
Mental and Physical Abilities: Duties are usually performed seated with occasional periods of standing or walking. Limited physical effort is required associated with lifting and carrying objects (less than 25 lbs).
Working Conditions: Work may be performed but is not limited to an office environment.
