Tribal Administration Security Officer – (Temporary Position – Immediate Hire)
The Hualapai Tribe is seeking a reliable, observant, and community-focused individual to serve as a Temporary Tribal Administration Security Officer assigned to duties in Peach Springs. This fast-track role supports protection of tribal property and administration staff.
Under the direct supervision of the Executive Secretary of the Vice-Chairman, this Security Officer is responsible for maintaining a safe environment through proactive patrols, accurate reporting, and essential security-related support functions.
Responsibilities:
• Security Patrols: Conduct continuous foot and vehicle patrols within the administration buildings and surrounding tribal areas to ensure administration employees safety, protect tribal property, and maintain a visible security presence. • Surveillance and Reporting: Observe, identify, and accurately report suspicious, illegal, or hazardous activities to appropriate law enforcement or tribal authorities. This is a non-intervention role; direct enforcement is not authorized. Provide surveillance and security presence for administration buildings entrance/exits.
• Documentation: Maintain detailed daily security logs including patrol activities, observations, preventative measures, and incident notes. • Safety Monitoring: Identify safety hazards, community concerns, and unusual activities and promptly report them to direct supervision so they can be routed through the appropriate channels.
• Property Protection: Monitor facilities, grounds, and equipment to discourage vandalism, theft, or misuse.
• Professional Conduct: Must remain alert, professional, impartial, and courteous when interacting with employees, Tribal members, visitors, and law enforcement. • Light Grounds Support: Assist with basic upkeep such as litter removal to preserve a clean, safe, and orderly public environment. • Additional Tasks: Perform other security-related duties as assigned to support Tribal Administration and Code Enforcement operations.
Qualifications:
• High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • Valid driver's license and ability to meet the Tribe’s requirements for operating a vehicle. • Ability to work independently and exercise sound judgment in security observation and reporting. • Strong written and verbal communication skills. • Ability to maintain accurate and detailed security documentation. • Physical ability to conduct routine patrols and perform light manual tasks in varying weather conditions. • Hualapai preference. • Peach Springs residents strongly encouraged to apply. • Must pass a drug and background screening.
Schedule: This is an immediate-hire temporary position. Hours and duration may vary depending on security needs. Estimated employment length is two to four months, with potential changes at any time. Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays may be required.
