Job Overview

We are a recruiting agency seeking an experiencedHuman Resources Manager on behalf of our client, a growing company in the U.S. solar industry.

The HR Manager will be responsible for managing the employee lifecycle, from interviewing and hiring coordination through onboarding, employee relations, performance matters, and offboarding.

This person will work closely with team leads and company leadership to understand hiring needs, interview candidates, ensure successful onboarding of new employees, gather feedback from employees, and handle sensitive HR matters, including terminations.

The ideal candidate is approachable, organized, confident in difficult conversations, and capable of building strong relationships with both employees and management.

Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct interviews with candidates and evaluate their suitability for open positions.

  • Coordinate closely with team leads and managers to understand current and upcoming hiring needs.

  • Work with the external agency to ensure candidates moving through the hiring process match the requirements of each department.

  • Coordinate final hiring decisions, offers, and start dates with relevant team leads.

  • Own the onboarding process and ensure new employees are properly introduced to the company, their team, responsibilities, tools, and internal processes.

  • Conduct regular check-ins with new hires during their onboarding period.

  • Serve as a primary HR point of contact for employees across the company.

  • Actively listen to employee feedback, concerns, suggestions, and workplace issues.

  • Identify recurring employee or organizational issues and communicate relevant insights to company leadership.

  • Manage employee relations and help resolve interpersonal conflicts or workplace concerns.

  • Support managers with employee performance issues, improvement plans, and difficult conversations.

  • Coordinate and conduct employee terminations when necessary, ensuring they are handled professionally, respectfully, and in accordance with company policies and applicable laws.

  • Manage offboarding processes, including documentation, access removal coordination, and exit interviews.

  • Help maintain a positive, accountable, and productive company culture.

  • Maintain accurate employee records and HR documentation.

  • Ensure HR practices and employment decisions comply with applicable U.S. employment laws and company policies.

  • Provide management with regular updates regarding hiring, onboarding, employee satisfaction, performance concerns, and other HR matters.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as an HR Manager, HR Generalist, People Operations Manager, or similar role.

  • Strong experience conducting candidate interviews and supporting hiring decisions.

  • Experience working closely with department heads or team leads on staffing needs.

  • Hands-on experience with employee onboarding and offboarding.

  • Comfortable handling employee performance issues and terminations.

  • Excellent communication, listening, and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to build trust with employees while maintaining appropriate confidentiality.

  • Strong judgment when dealing with sensitive or difficult situations.

  • Experience working in a fully remote organization is strongly preferred.

  • Good understanding of U.S. employment practices and HR compliance.

  • Highly organized and capable of managing multiple HR processes simultaneously.

  • Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field is preferred but not required.

What Success Looks Like

The HR Manager should have a clear understanding of what is happening across the organization from a people perspective. Team leads should have reliable HR support when they need to hire, onboard, manage, or offboard employees, while employees should have a trusted person they can approach with feedback, concerns, or workplace issues.

The goal is to create a structured employee lifecycle while helping management maintain a high-performing, engaged, and well-supported team.
