Role Summary:
The HRP – Benefits Administrator plays a crucial role in managing and overseeing the Credit Union’s team member benefits programs. This role provides high quality and professional service to all team members, in maintaining, administering, and leading functions in the area of Benefits Administration, administering the Credit Union’s health and welfare benefits as well as compensation programs, including retirement plans and life insurance plans. This position will report to the Human Resources Manager/Team Leader and partner with other members of the Human Resources team to accomplish goals and proudly serve our team members.
What You Will Be Doing:
- Administer benefits programs including health insurance, retirement plans, life insurance, and additional HR-administered benefits: manage enrollments, terminations, and Qualifying Life Events
- Serve as the main point of contact for team member benefits inquiries, and ensure accurate benefit records
- Partner with the HR Manager to lead the benefit renewal process, analyzing current benefits, evaluating the use, services, coverage, effectiveness, cost, plan experience, and competitive trends in benefit programs
- Serve as a partner with Gesa’s third-party compensation vendor to maintain and update job descriptions, salary grades and ranges, and perform job evaluations and FLSA classifications with guidance/support from the Sr. HR Generalist
- Work in partnership with and may be delegated to serve as the primary contact for, the insurance benefits broker, engaging effectively to ensure the plans run smoothly, investigate discrepancies and provide information in non-routine situations
- Organize and prepare for new team member bi-weekly orientation relating to benefits and HRIS usage
- Assist the HR Manager in conducting trainings, coaching team leaders, and updating new salary data into HRIS as part of the annual performance review process
- Advise team members, answer questions, and partner with the Human Resources team to implement process enhancements
- Create and maintain HR statistical reports for all areas of assigned responsibility
- Crosstrain in and serve as backup for peer HR team members as needed, supporting continuity of service across all HR roles
- Demonstrate knowledge and fluency in labor laws and ensure compliance with federal and state regulations
- Collaborate with the Human Resources team on development, implementation and communication of existing and new HR procedures and policies
- Understand and perform Bank Secrecy Act (BSA) functions as applicable to job responsibilities
- Attend Credit Union training sessions, conferences, or seminars as approved by supervisor Maintain awareness of policies and regulations related to duties and responsibilities
- Display leadership values such as mutual respect, trust and dignity, and act in the best interest of the Credit Union. Lead by example by displaying solid ethics and integrity at all times
- Control risk and operate in a safe and sound manner
- Maintain and protect sensitive data utilizing the highest standard of confidentiality and professionalism
- Perform other related duties as required and assigned.
About You:
- Excellent communication and effective interpersonal skills, including a positive attitude, to deal tactfully, effectively and confidentially with individuals in all types of situations and across all levels of the Credit Union
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to address team member issues and resolve benefit-related problems
- Ability to manage multiple tasks, deadlines and details
- Ability to maintain HIPAA certification
- Proven ability to work effectively in a team environment
- Skill in working independently and following through on assignments with minimal direction
Qualifications
What You Will Need:
- High school diploma required. Two (2) or four (4) year degree preferred in Human Resource Management, Psychology, or Sociology
- Three (3) to five (5) years of relevant Human Resources work experience
- Strong knowledge of all pertinent federal and state regulations
- MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook) at the intermediate skill level
- Experience with HRIS and compensation software(s)
- Proficient in computer applications, reporting, and file/data systems
- PHR or SHRM-CP certification is preferred

Full Salary Range:
$25.70-$42.83
*While our full pay range is listed, most new team members typically start between the minimum and midpoint based on their experience and qualifications. This approach gives room to grow within the role as your career progresses with us!"
