Position Overview:
The HR Analyst (Maternity Cover) is a four-month, full-time role providing critical operational and technical support to the Global HR Director during a period of organizational growth and delivery. Serving as the primary day-to-day HR contact for a global workforce, the role is responsible for maintaining continuity across recruitment, onboarding, employee lifecycle administration, performance management, workforce reporting, HR systems, and employee support.
Working closely with teams across Operations, Finance, IT, Programs, and country offices worldwide, the HR Analyst ensures HR operations run efficiently and accurately across multiple time zones. The successful candidate will manage competing priorities, maintain high standards of data integrity and service delivery, and contribute to ongoing HR process improvement initiatives.
The role plays a key part in day to day HR administration, delivering the annual performance review cycle, supporting compensation planning activities, managing active recruitment across global offices, coordinating employee lifecycle processes, and ensuring workforce data remains accurate, timely, and audit-ready.

Additional support: Works closely with external recruiters and recruitment partners as needed.
Key internal partners: Operations, Finance, IT, Programs, Country Directors and Managers across Africa, Asia, Latin America, and HQ.
Key external partners: Deel, TriNet, recruitment vendors, background screening providers, benefits brokers, and other HR service providers.

Scope of Work:
Key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Recruitment & Talent Acquisition
Manage full-cycle recruitment for U.S. and international positions, including sourcing, screening, interview coordination, conduct interviews, assessments, reference checks, offer preparation, and onboarding.
Partner with hiring managers and country leadership to develop recruitment strategies and recruitment timelines.
Facilitate structured interview processes, scorecards, and hiring panel discussions in accordance with organizational hiring practices and DEI commitments.
Coordinate candidate communications and ensure a positive candidate experience throughout the hiring process.
Prepare and distribute recruitment reports, hiring metrics, and workforce planning updates for leadership.
Support recruitment process improvements and talent pipeline development initiatives.
Performance Management, Compensation & Benefits
Administer the annual performance review cycle through completion in Deel Engage, supporting managers and employees, tracking participation, troubleshooting issues, and preparing data for leadership review and calibration discussions.
Support the preparation of promotion, salary adjustment, and bonus recommendations, ensuring alignment with organizational policies, compensation ranges, and approval processes.
Maintain performance review documentation and employee records related to compensation and career progression.
Coordinate benefits administration activities, employee inquiries, annual renewals, and open enrollment support with external providers.
Assist in maintaining compensation data, salary benchmarking information, and workforce planning records.
Onboarding, Offboarding & Employee Lifecycle Administration
Lead onboarding and offboarding processes globally, ensuring a seamless employee experience and timely completion of all required activities.
Coordinate employee orientation, technology setup, systems access, documentation collection, and mandatory training assignments.
Partner with managers to ensure onboarding plans and new hire integration activities are completed.
Manage employee lifecycle transactions including hires, transfers, promotions, compensation changes, contract renewals, leaves, and separations.
Coordinate with HR, Operations, Finance, IT, PEO, and EOR partners to ensure accurate processing of all personnel actions.
HR Operations & Employee Support
Serve as the primary point of contact for employee questions related to benefits, policies, leaves, onboarding, recruitment, payroll coordination, and HR processes.
Provide responsive HR support to staff across multiple countries and time zones.
Maintain HR documentation, standard operating procedures, templates, and employee communications.
Support policy implementation and ensure consistent application of HR procedures across the organization.
Coordinate annual compliance activities, mandatory training initiatives, and policy acknowledgments.
HR System & Process Improvement
Maintain and optimize HR systems including Deel, TriNet, SharePoint, Microsoft Lists, Power Automate, and related HR technologies.
Ensure employee records are complete, accurate, audit-ready, and updated in accordance with organizational requirements.
Develop and maintain workflow automations, workforce trackers, dashboards, and process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce manual work.
Support HR reporting, data governance, document management, and system administration activities.
Identify opportunities to strengthen HR processes, controls, employee experience, and operational efficiency.
Workforce Planning & Reporting
Produce monthly workforce reporting including headcount, vacancies, onboarding activity, contract renewals, turnover, recruitment metrics, and personnel costs.
Maintain organizational charts, workforce planning documents, and position management records.
Support workforce planning, budget planning, and people analytics projects in collaboration with Finance and leadership.
Ensure all workforce reporting is accurate, timely, and aligned with leadership reporting needs.
Employee Engagement, Learning & Employee Relations
Support employee engagement initiatives, including the annual staff survey, engagement action planning, and organizational programs.
Coordinate Professional Development Fund administration, tracking, reporting, and employee communications.
Assist with planning and logistics for learning sessions, training completion, employee meetings, and People Team initiatives.
Support employee relations matters by maintaining confidential case records, documentation, and follow-up actions.
Contribute to creating a positive employee experience and fostering organizational culture and engagement.
HR Projects & Strategic Initiatives
Support organizational HR projects and priorities as assigned by the Global HR Director.
Participate in process improvement initiatives, systems enhancements, policy updates, and workforce planning projects.
Coordinate cross-functional initiatives involving Operations, Finance, IT, Programs, and Country Offices.
Assist with implementation of new HR programs, reporting tools, and employee experience initiatives.
Required Qualifications and Experiences:
Education
Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Business Analytics, Organizational Development, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience
5+ years of progressively responsible HR experience, preferably within international, nonprofit, or fast-growing organizations.
Experience supporting multiple HR functions including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, performance management, and HR operations.
Experience administering a performance review process and supporting compensation planning activities.
Demonstrated experience managing full-cycle recruitment for U.S. and international positions.
Experience maintaining HRIS records with a strong commitment to data integrity and confidentiality.
Experience preparing workforce reporting, HR metrics, and people analytics.
Working knowledge of U.S. employment laws and HR practices, including FLSA, EEO, leave administration, and employee relations fundamentals.
Experience working with PEOs, EORs, or supporting international workforces across multiple countries.
Proven ability to manage competing priorities and work independently in a fast-paced environment.
Availability for the full contract period from December 1, 2026 through March 31,2027.
Preferred Qualifications
SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or equivalent HR certification.
Experience with Deel (HRIS, EOR and/or Engage).
Experience with TriNet, DEEL or another U.S.-based PEO.
Experience using SharePoint, Power Automate, Power BI, Microsoft Lists, or Microsoft Copilot.
Experience supporting global teams across Africa, Asia, and Latin America.
Experience in nonprofit, environmental, global health, humanitarian, or international development organizations.

Work Environment:
Full-time, Monday through Friday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. Employees are expected to work in the New York City office Tuesday through Thursday, with remote work flexibility Monday and Friday. Occasional early morning or evening meetings may be required to support employees and stakeholders across global time zones.
Salary:
Full-time exempt, Level L4, $80,000 to $96,900 annualized salary, prorated for the 4-month contract term.
Contract Duration:
Four-month full-time temporary assignment December 1, 2026, to March 31, 2027
