Responsibilities:
- Maintains established departmental policies and procedures, objectives, quality assurance programs, safety, environmental, and infection control standards.
- Dusts furniture, woodwork, and equipment. Mops floors and polishes and cleans fixtures in all areas as needed. Wet mops rooms, halls, stairways, and public areas.
- Operates mechanical housekeeping equipment.
- Moves furniture as needed to perform cleaning procedures.
- Buffs, strips, waxes, and polishes floors.
- Removes waste and soiled linens from work areas according to established procedures.
- Performs cleaning procedures in patient rooms and prepares rooms for the next occupant. Follows proper isolation procedures when cleaning isolation rooms.
- Participates in educational programs and in-service meetings.
Qualifications:
Less than high school.
