- Lead the design, development, and maintenance of Ads API microservices that deliver display, sponsored, and search ads on Walmart platforms.

- Own delivery across the SDLC: design, implementation, testing, release, and production operations; influence development/test/prod environment setup and deployment practices.
- Create and maintain high-quality software artifacts (design docs, RFCs, runbooks, dashboards, postmortems) and deliver well-scoped releases of software components.
Required qualifications
- Experience designing and implementing REST and GraphQL services using Node.js and Java.

- Experience in frontend engineering with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS, including responsive design and cross-browser compatibility.
- Experience building and deploying scalable microservices to cloud platforms (e.g., Azure, GCP) using Kubernetes.
- Experience designing and operating data storage solutions using MySQL, and writing complex SQL; experience querying analytics data (e.g., BigQuery).
- Experience troubleshooting and performance analysis using tools such as Splunk and Dynatrace.
- Experience building CI/CD pipelines and release automation using tools such as Docker, Maven, Webpack, and npm.
- Experience with automated testing frameworks such as Jest, JUnit, and Mockito and a strong commitment to engineering quality.
- Experience with high-scale ad serving systems, marketplace/e-commerce platforms, or real-time decisioning systems.
- Experience with experimentation platforms and statistical interpretation of A/B test results.
- Strong operational excellence: SLOs/SLIs, alerting strategy, incident response, and post-incident learning.
Staff-level expectations (scope & impact)
- Sets technical direction for a problem space (web ad experiences + supporting services), influencing designs across multiple teams.
- Drives alignment on architecture and standards (performance, reliability, privacy/security-by-design, testing, observability).
- Mentors senior engineers and raises the bar through design reviews, code reviews, and pragmatic coaching.
- Owns ambiguous problems end-to-end and delivers measurable outcomes (latency, revenue impact, engagement, quality, stability).
