Damage Estimator & Claims Specialist 


HMD Trucking is seeking an experienced Claims & Damage Estimator to join our team.This position will be responsible for preparing accurate truck and trailer damage estimates based on photographs and documentation, reviewing estimates prepared by third-party repair facilities and adjusters, and assisting with the overall handling of trucking claims.
The ideal candidate will have strong experience estimating damage to commercial trucks and trailers, reviewing repair estimates, identifying discrepancies or excessive charges, and working with repair facilities, insurance companies, and adjusters.

Responsibilities: 

 -Prepare accurate damage estimates for trucks and trailers based on photographs, accident reports, and supporting documentation
 -Perform detailed desk reviews of third-party damage estimates to verify labor, parts, repair procedures, and overall costs
 -Identify inaccurate, excessive, or unnecessary repair charges and recommend appropriate adjustments  

-Review accident photos to determine the extent of vehicle and equipment damage

-Review repair estimates, supplements, invoices, and related claim documentation 

-Communicate with repair facilities, insurance carriers, adjusters, vendors, and internal departments

-Assist with property damage and vehicle claims from initial reporting through resolution.  

Qualifications:

-Previous professional experience preparing truck / trailer  damage estimates is required
-Experience reviewing and negotiating third-party repair estimates is required
-Strong understanding of vehicle repair processes, labor operations, parts, and damage assessment.
-Ability to accurately assess damage from photographs and supporting documentation
-Experience with estimating software such as Adjust Rite is a plus
-Claims handling or insurance industry experience is required
-Excellent communication and negotiation skills
-Ability to work independently and manage multiple claims simultaneously
