Job Title: Business Analyst - Private Equity Valuations

Location: Toronto, ON

Duration: 06-12 Months

Hourly Pay Rate: 60 CAD/hr.

Job Description:

We are seeking a skilled Business Analyst with expertise in private equity valuations to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for process mapping, liaising between engineering teams and stakeholders, and refining acceptance criteria. This role requires deep domain knowledge and the ability to validate financial models for accuracy and auditability.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered):

• 10+ years of experience in business analysis and data visualization using tools like Tableau.
• Proficiency in PL/SQL.
• Deep domain knowledge of PE valuations, trading comps, and precedent transactions.
• Experience writing structured requirements and acceptance criteria for data-intensive financial tools.
• Familiarity with IFRS fair value measurement and audit-readiness requirements.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required):

• Experience with stakeholder management across deal teams and valuation groups.
• Proficiency in data modeling and schema design, especially JSON output structures.
• Experience with UAT coordination and test case design for financial accuracy validation.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role):

• Own the process mapping for the end-to-end workflow, including inputs, transformations, outputs, and dependencies.
• Liaise with the engineering team and valuation group stakeholders to resolve design decisions.
• Define and refine acceptance criteria in collaboration with the PE Valuations team.
• Design human-in-the-loop review gates and manage data schema reference documents.
• Coordinate with deal teams on structured data entry mechanisms and validate prototype outputs.
