Job Purpose:

The Project Manager, Enterprise Initiatives is a project management role that is central to advancing the Global Enterprise Integration (GEI) Division’s mandate by managing the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex cross-functional enterprise initiatives. The role supports a diverse range of enterprise priorities related to organizational operations, global operating models, country registration and implementation, and other cross-functional organizational initiatives.

Reporting to the Vice President, Global Operations, the Project Manager applies structured project management practices to translate strategic priorities into executable projects, coordinate across divisions, and ensure the timely delivery of high-quality outputs.

This is a full-time, U.S.-based role, with a preference for candidates based in the New York City area. New York-based employees are expected to adhere to Vital Strategies’ hybrid schedule and work from the New York office two days per week. Candidates from the following states would also be considered: CA, CO, CT, DC, DE, FL, GA, KY, MD, MI, NC, NJ, NY, PA, VA, WA, WI.

The position requires occasional travel, including international travel, based on project needs. Vital Strategies offers highly competitive compensation and comprehensive benefits. The NYC area salary range for this position is $76,800 to $89,600 USD (other possible locations to be determined). The candidate must have authorization to work legally in the U.S. at the time of hiring.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Project Management - 

· Manage assigned enterprise initiatives from planning through execution, including development of project plans, timelines, deliverables, stakeholder engagement and risk management.

· Provide project management and coordination for assigned cross-functional initiatives related to organizational operations, country registration and office/entity establishment, global operating models, and other enterprise priorities.

· Identify risks, dependencies, and resource needs; proactively escalate issues and propose solutions.

· Monitor progress against established OKRs, track key action items, identify risks, and proactively address potential bottlenecks to ensure timely delivery of key results.

· Develop, maintain, and prepare dashboards and progress reports to provide stakeholders visibility into project status and outcomes.

· Support project governance by coordinating meetings, maintaining action logs, documenting decisions, and ensuring timely follow-up on agreed actions.

· Identify opportunities to improve processes, workflows, and cross-functional coordination in support of assigned initiatives.

Cross-Functional Coordination and Communication - 

· Coordinate within GEI and across Program and shared services Divisions, the Leadership Team, country teams, and other stakeholders in support of assigned enterprise initiatives. Support development of communication and change management approaches to accompany new processes or organizational changes.

· Ensure clear documentation and knowledge capture to support sustainability and institutional learning.

Technology and Project Tools - 

· Leverage project management tools, collaboration platforms, and organizational systems to support efficient execution.

· Use technology-enabled approaches, including AI tools where appropriate, to improve project delivery, documentation, reporting, and operational workflows.

Other Responsibilities - 

· Perform other duties as assigned in support of GEI and organizational priorities.

Qualifications:

Education and Degree - 

· Bachelor’s degree

Skills and Abilities - 

· Strong project management and organizational skills.

· Demonstrated ability to collaborate across functions and organizational levels.

· Comfort with technology-enabled work environments and interest in leveraging AI tools.

Experience:

Required - 

· Minimum of six (6) years of progressively responsible professional experience.

· Minimum of four (4) years’ experience in project management, including management of complex, cross-functional initiatives.

· Experience managing multi-stakeholder projects or initiatives in nonprofit, public health, or international development settings.

· Experience with project and work management tools such as Monday.com, Microsoft Planner, Microsoft Project, Asana, Jira, or similar tools.

Preferred - 

· Experience supporting complex cross-functional implementation initiatives, such as country registration, legal entity or international office establishment, large program start-up, or similar organizational initiatives.

· Project management certification or equivalent training preferred (PMP, Agile, Lean, or similar).

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

· Ability to travel occasionally (less than 20%)
