How you will make an impact:

As Procurement Manager, you will lead the Malta site's procurement operations and provide direction to a high-performing buying team, ensuring the timely, compliant, and cost-effective supply of materials, goods, and services. You will play a key role in translating business requirements into effective procurement strategies while strengthening supplier performance and ensuring supply continuity. Working closely with cross-functional stakeholders across Planning, Operations, Engineering, Quality, and Finance, you will balance service, quality, cost, risk, and inventory objectives to support business success. Your leadership will drive operational excellence, supplier collaboration, and continuous improvement across the procurement function.

• Lead, coach and allocate work across the procurement team, setting clear priorities and ensuring appropriate cover for critical activities.

• Own the effective execution of operational procurement for direct materials, indirect goods and services, including requisition-to-order controls and timely follow-up of commitments.

• Partner with Planning, Operations, Quality, Engineering, Finance and other stakeholders to translate demand into practical procurement and supplier action plans.

• Negotiate pricing, service levels, lead times, payment terms and other commercial conditions within the applicable authority framework.

• Coordinate supplier selection, onboarding and periodic reviews while ensuring due diligence and required documentation are maintained.

• Establish and review supplier performance measures covering quality, delivery, cost, responsiveness and corrective-action closure.

• Monitor purchase price developments, savings, cost avoidance, shortages and inventory exposure, providing reports and recommendations for decision-making.

• Promote effective use of ERP procurement modules and drive improvements in data quality, workflow discipline and reporting.

   

Knowledge and expertise that matter most for this role:

Required:

• Tertiary qualification in Procurement, Supply Chain, Business Administration or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.

• Progressive procurement experience in a manufacturing or similarly demanding operational environment.

• Experience coordinating or supervising procurement activities and developing team capability.

• Strong commercial judgement, negotiation skills and working knowledge of contractual terms.

• Proficiency in ERP procurement processes and Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.

• Demonstrated ability to influence stakeholders, manage competing priorities and communicate clearly at different organisational levels.
  
  Preferred:

• Professional procurement or supply chain qualification.

• Training in people leadership, contract management or project management.

• Experience with direct and indirect procurement, supplier audits, QMS/ISO environments and business continuity planning.

• Knowledge of banknote manufacturing or other security-sensitive manufacturing operations.

The salary range for this role is €45,000 - €53,000 annually. Pay is based on multiple factors including but not limited to work experience, qualifications, credentials, and location.
