CREATIVE ARTS PASTOR

POSITION SUMMARY

The Creative Arts Pastor provides leadership and spiritual oversight for all elements of service programming at Heights Church under the direction of the Lead Pastor. This role helps create meaningful, engaginggatherings where people cansee, know, and experience Jesus in a real and life changing way.

The Creative Arts Pastor leads and develops the Creative Arts Team while overseeing the integration of worship, communications, audio, video, lighting, production, creative elements, and Collection of Talks into the implementation of gatherings within the discipleship process.This role requires a strong understanding of the Mission, Vision, Values, Beliefs, and Culture of Heights Church, along with the ability to bring people and teams together around a shared vision.

Above all, the Creative Arts Pastor is ashepherd and leader who cares deeply about people, develops others, and uses creativity and excellence to help communicate the Gospel.

STAFF LEADERSHIP & DEVELOPMENT

The Creative Arts Pastor provides leadership, shepherding, and support to the Creative Arts Team, creating an environment where people aregrowing spirituallycared for, developed, and empowered to use their gifts for the Kingdom.

This includes:

• Shepherding,discipling, and caring for Creative Arts staff and serve team members.
• Providing clear direction, encouragement, coaching, and accountability.
• Supervising theDirect Reports who oversee theday-to-day responsibilities andimplementation of the Creative Arts Team.
• Identifying staffing and ministry needs.
• Overseeing the development future leadersthrough the internship and apprenticeship programs.
• Helping staff recruit, train, and empower serve team members.
• Building relationships withchurch wideministry leaders to strengthen collaboration and shared ownership.
• Developing relationships with trusted outside professionals and ministry partners who align with the values and mission of Heights Church.

SERVICE & PROGRAM PLANNING

The Creative Arts Pastor oversees the planning and execution of dynamic, intentional, and excellent weekendgatherings, leadershipmeetings, and other ministry programs.

This includes:

• Lead creative conversations and brainstorming sessions to develop meaningfulgathering elements.
• Collaborate with communicators and ministry leaders to ensure each element supports the message and desired response.
• Lead weekly planning meetings with worship, production, video, technical, and creative teams.
• Develop clear systems, timelines, and detailedgathering plans well in advance.
• Ensuring music, video, lighting, production, communications, and creative elements work together seamlessly.
• Regularly evaluate service experiences and coaching teams toward continued growth and excellence.

CREATIVE DIRECTION & DEVELOPMENT

The Creative Arts Pastor helps carry and implement the creative direction of Heights Church as established by the Lead Pastor. This role seeks creative and effectivemethods to help communicatethe story of God so that our Heights family will be able to see, know, and experience Jesus in a life altering way.

This includes:

• Understanding and protecting the creative DNA and voice of Heights Church.
• Staying aware of cultural and creative trends and discerning how they can be used appropriately to communicate thegood news of Jesus.
• Leading creative development for weekendgatherings, Collection of Talks, ministry events, and other church-wide initiatives.
• Collaborating with the Lead Pastor, Communications Pastor, and ministry leaders to develop creative concepts and experiences.
• Encouraging innovation while ensuring creativity remains aligned with the Mission, Vision, Values, and theology of Heights Church.

COLLECTION OF TALKS DEVELOPMENT

The Creative Arts Pastor partners with the Lead Pastor and communicators to develop and implementourCollections of Talksto clearly communicate thenarrative of scripture to our Heights family and community.

This includes:

• Coordinating Collection of Talks planning and creative development meetings.
• Providing creative direction and clarity to the Creative Arts Team.
• Developing systems and processes that move a Collection of Talks from initial concept through implementation.
• Coordinating the development of Collection of Talks summaries, promotional elements, creative content, and service flow.
• Ensuring each element works together to communicate a clear and cohesive message.

VIDEO & MEDIA PRODUCTION

The Creative Arts Pastor oversees the creative direction and development of video used within weekendgatherings, promotions, and other ministry initiatives.

This includes:

• Partnering with the Communications Pastor and Production team to develop compelling video content.
• Helping guide concepts, scripting, filming, editing, and post-production as needed.
• Developing creative ways to use video to tell stories and communicatethe story of Jesus.
• Ensuring video content supports the overall vision and message of each service and ministry initiative.
• Developing people, systems, values, and timelines that support consistent and excellent video production.

PRODUCTION OVERSIGHT

The Creative Arts Pastor provides oversight and support to the Production Director, who leads the audio, lighting, video technology, equipment, and technical production areas of Heights Church.

This includes:

• Providing leadership and support to the Production Director.
• Ensuring production philosophy, systems, and expectations align with the overall vision of Heights Church.
• Supporting the Production team in creating environments that are clear, welcoming, and distraction-free.
• Leading production as needed and remaining willing to step into various roles when necessary.
• Encouraging the recruitment, development, and training of production serve team members.
• Helping establish healthy leadership pipelines, with the goal of having multiple people developing within each production position.
• Overseeing equipment needs, maintenance, and purchasing in partnership with the Production Director and appropriate leadership.

BUDGET & STEWARDSHIP

The Creative Arts Pastor oversees the Creative Arts budget in partnership with ministry leaders and directors, ensuring resources are stewarded wisely and in alignment with the mission andvision of Heights Church.

This includes:

• Managing ministry expenses within approved budgets.
• Reviewing and prioritizing purchases and equipment needs.
• Ensuring staff and teams follow established purchasing and expense policies.
• Encouraging a culture of stewardship, excellence, and wise use of church resources.

COMMUNICATIONS & COLLABORATION

The Creative Arts Pastor works closely with the Communications Pastor and Communications Team to create consistency in messaging, branding, promotions, and the overall weekend experience.

This includes:

• Collaborating with the Communications Pastor to align church-wide initiatives and weekend programming.
• Partnering with the Weekend Coordinator and ministry leaders to communicate messages or announcements from the stage.
• Helping develop creative ways to communicate announcements, giving opportunities, celebrations and ministry step in opportunities
• Coordinating timelines and expectations between the Creative Arts and Communications Teams.
• Ensuring promotional elements are strategically integrated into weekend services and church-wide initiatives.
