Healthcare Informatics & Administration (Onground) - Adjunct Instructor

Sacred Heart University’sHealthcare Informatics & Administration program in theCollege of Health Professions invites applications for Adjunct Instructors to teach graduate-level courses in healthcare informatics and related disciplines.

Through well-designed curriculum, the Program prepares students for leadership roles in the complex and dynamic healthcare informatics field. Courses are taught in person at Sacred Heart University'sCenter for Healthcare Education in Bridgeport, Connecticut. This dedicated healthcare education setting offers adjunct instructors the opportunity to share their expertise with graduate students preparing to lead in an increasingly technology-driven healthcare landscape. Responsibilities:

• Prepare for and teach assigned graduate-level courses using the approved curriculum and established course objectives
• Support students in achieving course learning outcomes through effective instruction, engagement, and academic guidance
• Maintain course materials in Blackboard, including syllabi, assignments, grading rubrics, and other required resources
• Evaluate student work, provide timely feedback, and maintain accurate grades and attendance records in accordance with University policies
• Respond to student inquiries within 48 hours and remain reasonably available to meet with students as needed
• Encourage active student participation and foster an inclusive, respectful, and supportive learning environment
• Communicate with the Program Chair regarding course delivery, student progress, and academic concerns
• Fulfill other responsibilities associated with assigned courses

Qualifications:

• An earned master's degree in Informatics, Healthcare Informatics, or a closely related field aligned with the assigned course content
• Demonstrated practical knowledge, subject-matter expertise, and hands-on experience in the field
• Strong interpersonal, customer service, presentation, and communication skills
• Creative thinking, innovation, and effective problem-solving skills
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to complete assignments accurately and on time with minimal supervision
• Prior college-level teaching experience is preferred
