Our hospital manages a broad and complex referral caseload, for a Head Nurse, this means an opportunity to lead a highly skilled team while continuing to develop your own clinical expertise.

Your New Role:

As the Head Nurse you have a shared responsibility of administration and management of the ECC nursing team. In this role you will find the perfect blend of both clinical and administration responsibilities, allowing you to make a lasting impact on both patient care and overall operations.

Your daily tasks will involve team development, liaising with intra and inter-departmental team members, upholding high standards of care, drive team development and participation in all aspects of workflow in a supportive environment.

You will;

• Lead by example and provide strong clinical leadership on the floor
• Support and mentor our nursing team, helping individuals grow their skills and confidence
• Support exceptional patient care across complex emergency and critical care cases
• Help drive clinical standards, operational excellence, and continuous improvement
• Foster a positive, supportive, and collaborative workplace culture
• Contribute to education, training, and professional development within the nursing team

Who we are looking for:

• Cert IV or above
• Is an experienced and highly capable veterinary nurse
• Has a strong background in emergency and/or critical care nursing
• Leads by example and inspires those around them
• Enjoys mentoring, coaching, and developing others
• Is confident working in a fast-paced and complex emergency environment
• Embraces continuous learning and improvement
• Communicates with authenticity, compassion, and confidence
