Head of Tax

The Role

As the Head of Tax at Tally, you’ll play a crucial role in overseeing our tax advisory team, managing the corporate tax filing process across thousands of clients, overseeing tax advisory strategy and focus areas, and strategizing future expansion areas for the business.

In this role, you’ll also be closely collaborating with the product and engineering teams to build scalable processes and agentic AI systems, track metrics, and improve our overall efficiency. Our goal is to build AI that can assist advisors with tax planning and automate tax filings.

Qualifications

• 5-15 years of total experience in tax, across Big 4 (and top 10 firms) and startup roles

• Experience managing tax advisors and CPAs to provide year-round advice, strategy, and planning

• Experience handling corporate federal and state tax returns and managing teams to streamline tax processes and workflows in a high volume environment

• Ideally played a similar role in a tax advisory and/or tax and accounting services startup

Other requirements

• Has an active CPA license

• Has a degree in accounting or finance from a top school

• Can communicate effectively, and timely, with clients, legal counsel, and internal teams, including product and engineering, and operations

• Can effectively cross-collaborate with other teams

• Are ready to lead and grow a team of tax advisors
