Head of Ecosystem

TheMonad Foundation is a team of dedicated ecosystem and community builders who are on a mission to massively grow the impact of decentralized tech. We believe that theMonad blockchain--the performant and parallel EVM Layer 1--will help decentralized apps eat the world.

The Role

We’re looking for a Head of Ecosystem to lead the growth and development of the Monad ecosystem. You will define where we focus, attract exceptional founders and builders, and help teams move from initial exploration to successful deployment, and sustained growth. This role combines leadership and management with direct execution.

You will own ecosystem strategy, founder, and builder programs, working closely with Engineering, Developer Relations, and Marketing, amongst other departments. Your mandate is to build and grow a thriving on-chain ecosystem of builders on Monad, while ensuring they have the tools, relationships, resources, and support needed to build, launch, and scale successful applications onchain.

Who You Are

• 7+ years of experience across ecosystem development, growth, product management, or business development in technology, fintech, or financial services.

• 4+ years of hands-on experience in crypto or Web3, with a strong understanding of blockchain ecosystems, DeFi, and the factors that influence where builders and founders choose to build.

• 2+ years leading ecosystem development, incubation, or growth initiatives, with ownership of strategy, execution, and measurable outcomes.

• 2+ years of experience at an L1 or L2 blockchain, attracting builders, developing strategic collaborations, and supporting projects from initial engagement through launch and adoption.

• 2+ years of people management experience, having built, scaled and managed a team.

• 2+ years of prior entrepreneurial or startup operating experience. A track record of working closely with early-stage founders on product positioning, go-to-market strategy, fundraising readiness, and ecosystem connections or operating one’s own entrepreneurial venture.

• Experience designing or managing builder support programs, such as grants, accelerators, incubation programs, or ecosystem incentives, with clear milestones and evaluation criteria.

• Strong relationships across crypto founders, developers, infrastructure providers, and investors, and the ability to translate those relationships into successful collaborations.

• Commercial and product judgment, including the ability to evaluate emerging applications, structure collaborations, and allocate resources against ecosystem priorities.

• Experience leading cross-functional teams or programs, aligning technical and commercial stakeholders, and remaining directly involved in execution.

• Clear communication and strong analytical skills, with the ability to represent the ecosystem externally and measure success through builder retention, application traction, and sustained on-chain activity.

What You Will Do

• Set ecosystem strategy. Identify the applications, verticals, and markets where Monad has a compelling advantage. Translate that strategy into clear priorities, budgets, and measurable goals.

• Attract and support high-quality builders. Build relationships with founders and builders, source promising projects, and lead their journey from initial engagement through deployment and growth.

• Secure strategic collaborations and deployments. Develop relationships with builders, accelerators, users, investors, and operators that strengthen the network and expand adoption.

• Build a complete ecosystem. Identify gaps in sectors and applications. Coordinate the deployments needed to make Monad a compelling place to build.

• Lead grants and builder programs. Design and manage grants, accelerators, and ecosystem incentives, with clear selection criteria, milestones, and accountability for outcomes.

• Help ecosystem teams succeed. Connect founders with support, like GTM advisory, funding opportunities, launch resources, and users. Develop repeatable support programs as the ecosystem scales.

• Bring builder needs into the roadmap. Work with Product, Engineering, and Developer Relations to address onboarding friction and turn ecosystem feedback into actionable priorities.

• Drive ecosystem go-to-market. Work with Marketing on application launches, campaigns, events, and founder stories that translate awareness into adoption.

• Build and lead the team. Hire and develop the ecosystem function, establish effective operating processes, and maintain clear ownership across collaborations and programs.

• Measure and improve performance. Track ecosystem health and resource effectiveness, adjusting strategy based on builder retention, application traction, and sustained on-chain activity.
