WHAT TO EXPECT

Sitting within the Digital Engineering Function the Head of Digital Engineering will be responsible for providing software engineering technical leadership, managing a large resource pool of permanent and contract software engineers as well as thought leadership for all bespoke products across the Digital Function and wider into Jaguar Land Rover organisation.

You will also be expected to support and develop both your direct team and those who indirectly support you, motivating and bringing through the next generation of talent.

In your role you will:

• Lead, coach and mentor a team of Software Engineers inclusive of their career development via personal development plans.
• Lead a team of Software Engineers in Test and Security Engineers.
• Technical leadership of the design and build of applications and integrations as part of solutions to complex business problems, working across the full application stack and full SDLC
• Design, deliver, lead and proliferate software engineering services, approaches, standards and tooling for bespoke software products across the Digital function and beyond.
• Provide specialist chapter expertise/leadership to chapter leads and chapter members in Digital Engineering.
• Drive and facilitate continuous DevSecOps improvements
• Drive innovation and cater to different use cases across the area

WHAT YOU-LL NEED

• Technical expertise in Engineering frameworks, approaches and coding languages.
• Proven experience of building of strong relationships and influencing within business domains.
• Deep understanding of digital capability groups.
• Proven experience of the leadership and development of diverse and high performing, multiskilled engineering teams
