SPA & WELLNESS MANAGER

Hazendal Wine Estate isseeking an experienced, passionate, and dynamic Spa & Wellness Manager to lead our luxury spa and wellness operations in Stellenbosch, Western Cape.The successful candidate willbe responsible for delivering an exceptional wellness experience that combines premium spa therapies, holistic wellbeing, and movement practices such as yoga, Pilates, and functional fitness. 

This role requires operational excellence, innovative wellness programming, and a genuine commitment to creating memorable guest experiences in line with luxury hospitality standards. 

Key Responsibilities  

Leadership & Operations 

• Oversee the daily operations of the spa and fitness centre. 

• Lead, mentor, and develop a multidisciplinary team of therapists
  and wellness professionals. 

• Ensure compliance with brand standards, operating procedures, and hygiene protocols. 

• Promote team harmony, open communication, and a culture of continuous feedback. 

Wellness & Movement Programming 

• Develop and curate comprehensive wellness offerings integrating spa treatments, yoga, Pilates, and functional fitness. 

• Collaborate with instructors to deliver group classes, private sessions, and seasonal wellness programmes. 

• Stay informed of global wellness trends to enhance the guest wellness journey. 

Guest Experience 

• Provide personalised wellness consultations and guide guests through bespoke wellness experiences. 

• Engage with guests to gather feedback and promote guest satisfaction and repeat visitation. 

Financial Management 

• Drive revenue across spa treatments, retail, and movement-based programmes. 

• Manage departmental budgets, forecasts, and cost controls. 

• Monitor key performance indicators and implement strategies to optimise profitability and operational efficiency. 

Marketing & Brand Alignment 

• Collaborate with the Marketing and PR teams to promote wellness programmes,special events, and brand partnerships. 

• Organise and host wellness events, retreats, and workshops. 

• Maintain a consistent brand identity, visual presentation, and luxury service standards. 

Minimum Requirements  

• Minimum 8 years' experience in spa and wellness operations, within a luxury hotel or resort environment. 

• Strong knowledge of spa therapies, wellness services, movement practices, and functional training. 

• Proven leadership and team development experience. 

• Excellent interpersonal skills. 

• Demonstrated financial acumen, including budgeting, reporting, and revenue generation. 

• A degree or diploma in Spa Management, Wellness, Hospitality, or a related field is preferred. 

• CPR and First Aid certification will be an advantage.
