Enterprise (Acute, Ambulatory, Insurance Division) vision, executive leadership, strategic direction, and operational oversight for anesthesia services across 12 acute care hospitals, multiple ambulatory surgery centers (ASCs), and office-based procedural locations. Ensures safe, high-quality, financially sustainable anesthesia services while advancing clinical excellence, site optimization and infrastructure alignment. Areas include clinical and operational program success of quality outcomes with focus on resource efficiency, scale and affordability. Leads enterprise Anesthesia growth through Anesthesia Management Company driving financial success, business development, and partnership opportunities that promotes the mission to be the trusted partner for the delivery of anesthesia services.
Responsibilities:
- Maximizes system Anesthesia infrastructure value and growth by directing, leading, and evaluating the design of system anesthesia strategy in line with the enterprise’s overall clinical and organizational strategy that drives and supports efficiency, quality, market share growth, financial (enterprise total cost of care) improvements, and health outcomes
- Establish collaborative relationships with executives, physician leaders, perioperative management within the hospitals, ASC’s and ambulatory practices
- Leverage system scale and capabilities to expand services across the enterprise
- Advise on site optimization, resource allocation across care delivery org that leads to lower cost and /or increased efficiency in the acute and ambulatory settings.
- Evaluates potential external partnerships to accelerate growth and performance improvement of Anesthesia division, including JV ACS’s, independent partnerships, based on insights into both enterprise-wide (macro) and local market needs (micro)
- Responsible for staying aware of the national and local landscape standards and development to improve anesthesia delivery and care delivery models. Accountable to improve key performance metrics in efficiency, growth, finance, and quality
- Partner with Acute and ambulatory leadership, as well as Revenue Cyle and Managed care to continually assess and adjust operations to optimize delivery of anesthesia service.Â
- Collaborate with System Finance and Revenue Cycle leadership to improve financial drivers
Experience:
- Senior level management experience in healthcare operations, particularly within a dedicated service line (Anesthesia)
- Demonstrated ability to lead and influence Physicians
- Demonstrated ability to identify performance improvement opportunities
- Experience in managing both growth and quality aspirations within a multifaceted infrastructure
Skills and Knowledge:
- Ability to define Anesthesia service line objectives that fit overall business goals balancing business and clinical implications
- Well-connected with National Trends with good understanding of service line best practices
- Analytical abilities to identify patterns in data to develop tailored solutions
- Ability to work collaboratively with multiple verticals (Acute, Finance, Health Plan) to deliver mutually beneficial outcomes
- Bachelor’s degree required; MBA, MHA or other Masters in related area required

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, and benefits. The base pay range for full-time employment is $234,395.20 - $289,390.40 annually. Additional compensation may be available for this role, such as shift differentials, on-call pay, shift premiums, extra-shift incentives, or bonus opportunities. Compensation within the range may vary based on qualifications, experience, location, market conditions, and business needs. Note: If an annual salary is posted, it is based on a full-time colleague working 2,080 hours annually.
